New York not #1? List is shite

They have two teams in every league from NFL to MLS

And they host one of the 4 grand slams in tennis

Chicago is way too low, even if the Bears do suck.

DC? LOL.

methodology staggers "winning team" way too much.

Football Ranking (Overall) - Total Weight: 49%
Basketball Ranking (Overall) - Total Weight: 31%
Baseball Ranking (Overall) - Total Weight: 28%
Hockey Ranking (Overall) - Total Weight: 15%
Soccer Ranking (Overall) - Total Weight: 9%

Denver would pass Chicago b/c of Broncos over Bears. Also why Boston is #1

Kinda dumb. Winningness of team is way less relevant than people think - a team like the Bucks or Jazz would be way more fun to watch than a team like the Raptors who obviously have a better record but who are clearly 1st or 2nd round fodder at best and have literally no upside.

Jets and Giants are in New Jersey and are a bitch to get to. Or if you live in Jersey and root for the Metropolitans, Knickerbockers, Yankees, Islanders, etc. that would be a huge pain in the arse as well.

They have sports teams in damn near every borough.

Brooklyn-Nets, Islanders
Queens-Mets and US Open
Bronx-Yankees
Manhattan-Knicks, Rangers

I don't know where the mls teams are located

I bitch about Baton Rouge as much as anyone (I have lived here for my entire life), but this is fricking ridiculous.

It's a horrible sports town.

Every one of their Arena/stadiums is 1/2 empty every game.

I'm still not sure I get the methodology. Is it cities with the best offerings? Best results in each sports? Most committed fans (Miami and Atlanta, you can stay seated), or something else?

Denver is an odd choice for #2, because all of their teams kind of suck.

Back when the Rockies were in their inaugural season they set several major league records for attendance. Wanna say they surpassed 4 million for several years in a row.

Bowling Green, OH? That place isn't as good as the murder city, their neighbor, Toledo, OH, in terms of sports.

Why would New Orleans be on the Large city list but Cincinnati and Orlando are on the midsize list?

Kind of strange to see Buffalo and especially Cinci listed with mid sized cities like Laffy and B.R. I mean they are multi pro sport towns.

Twins in Wild Card race. Wild making the playoffs regularly. Vikings trending up and building a new stadium. Gopher sports are pretty decent. Minneapolis is a great sports town.
