American pharaoh looked pretty strong today on the sloppy track.

1.5 miles is a long way to run for a horse that likes to go to the front, he'll be running three hard races in a month, month, and there will be some horses in NY that have been resting up and pointing to this specific race. If he does it, he'll be a true super horse.

That was a nice run. That horse is awesome.

see y'all in Elmont.
Firing Line took one step out of the gate, and said WTF is this shizz and packed it in right there.
Also, I am including Dallas Stewart in every classic 2-hole from here on out.

honestly, i've never been really "sure" about horses in the triple crown, execpt i'll have another, he was literally bred to run 1.5 miles and he scratched he would have cruised in that race. i didn't think big brown was gonna win (i thought rags to riches little brother i forgot his name, oh casino drive was a better horse at the time), i didn't feel good about smart jones, i didnt' feel good about california chrome.
i honestly think we get a TC this year. it takes a freak to win the TC and AP is freakishly good. i mean, he just won the preakness by about 5-6 and really only ran the first quarter of the race. jock threw a few crosses at him in the stretch but that's it, it' not like h was all out today

Yup. I've been sucked in before. War Emblem. Smarty Jones. Big Brown. Has Baffert ever won a Belmont?

That was impressive.
I couldn't tell if Espinoza was giving him a little breather there in the middle of the race when the others closed on him, or if the horse, himself, was toying with the rest of the field and then didn't wish to be passed.

yeah firing line wanted none of that track

Pharoah wanted to stare them down in turn three and then crush their hope and dreams. No doubt.

yeah he was taking a breather. once he got control of the pace he was basically just galloping until they caught up iwth him then Vic turned it on to break away again then cut it right back off

I think we may get it this year.....AP doesn't need the lead to win
Hopefully he comes out of this one in good shape, and ready to run in 3 weeks

Victor was sitting chilly until top of stretch. It is hard to say. NOn-cheap speed always has an advantage on a slick surface.

Firing line shite the bed out the gate. Never saw the 4 at all. The 1 ran the race j expected but didn't expect that out of the 5
Posted on 5/16/15 at 5:37 pm to SoGaFan

He gave him a few taps on the stretch but he was like 5 lengths clear at that point.
