Baynes is really terrible. Not even the Spurs could hide his horrible defense.

Holy shite this is very wrong.

Baynes was excellent as Splitter's sub, especially on defense

Good get for DET. Was hoping we could keep him but that was hoping for too much.

Ok..? The atmosphere of the city of Phoenix is much closer to Portland than freaking Texas. Also the city of Phoenix is much better that San Antonio.

Someone asked for a reason. I gave them one. I still think he goes Spurs.

That would be one hell of a starting 5...with absolutely zero bench

I actually think Morey could get a better bench than most.

Regular season. Yes.

Playoffs. Baynes was a complete liability.

They would just have to play the Heat game, finding as many older veteran guys to take minimum/near minimum to fill it up.

Also, seems odd we are having a discussion on this when the chances of this likely happening are pretty much nil

Granted. Was not arguing that. Only arena atmospheres.

Vehemently disagree (however, I can admit my personal bias here).

Spurs players are royalty in the Alamo City, being the only major pro team in town. Hardly any players have disliked playing in SA, tbh. Great "living" town.

I honestly have no idea. We never land big name FA's so I'd be foolish to get my hopes up too much

Incorrect

Yeah he got posterized a few times against LAC. Who doesn't? Still provided solid help off the bench, as Splitter was never 100% during that series.

And he was terrific in the 2014 playoffs when he saw consequential minutes.

Did we watch the same Clippers series? Baynes was out of the rotation when the Spurs started playing well.

There is no way Baynes is worth $20 million over three years though

Seemed to me we started playing better when we weren't bricking wide open looks and swung the ball "summertime" style. Our shooting was subpar for the beginning of the series (when Aron saw the most time due to Tiago's recovering), but Baynes didn't seem to be more of a liability than anyone else out there not playing "spurs" ball (save for Timmy).

All water under the bridge, though. I'm not saying Baynes is irreplaceable, but a liability he was not for the overwhelming majority of his time here, including playoffs.

IMHO.

Lakers need to get more with the times on the basketball side of things and worry less about selling players on media opportunities and the like. They've had people from Time Warner and AEG in meetings with Howard, Carmello and Aldridge now and they were all underwhelmed by the presentation. I don't see other teams bringing in people like that to convince free agents to play for them.

I like both towns (have family in PHX), but I'm partial to SA of course

Like any city comparison, it comes down to what your interests are, I guess.
