I am a bit disappointed that you didn't list the Grizzlies in the list of teams you liked

Well, the Celtics were the best team in the league before Garnett went down in 2009.

And if they beat the Lakers in the Finals two straight years, I seriously doubt that a kind of mentally soft Lakers team (besides Kobe) would have been able to beat them the third time.

And Boston blew Game 7 anyway, playing without a pretty important interior piece. That game still hurts.

far from guaranteed. That was a damn good laker team that could score from multiple different places

I wouldn't call a team coached by Phil Jackson with players like kohe, fisher, artest, etc mentally soft. Maybe the 08 team but for sure not the 09 or 2010 team

as were we in 2008 and throughout most of the 2010 series

Lillard may average 30+ for the series if he is out

That 2008 laker team overachieved...a lot. I still think on paper the 08 spur team was better. But that 09 laker team was legit and the 10 team may not have been as deep but still was pretty damn good

Yeah, but they weren't very impressive in their series against Orlando, from what I remember. I know LA won in 5, but I just remember thinking Orlando could have easily won Games 2 and 5, but Dwight Howard was their best player so they had no one to go to down the stretch.

I was for the Lakers because I wanted to see Kobe get another. Orlando was decent and people will underrated them as time passes, but they weren't an outstanding team, either. That was a "what could have been" year. Boston and LA were the two best teams.

You're probably right. But I'd take Boston's guys in that area over LA's.

The 2010 Finals had a unique feel to it. LA was the defending champs, but it almost felt like the Celtics were. I guess since they had recently played in the Finals and Boston had won.

Games 2-4 were games that could have gone either way, didn't play our best ball but we destroyed Orlando in games 1 and 5

I think a lot of this was carry over perception from 2008. Those 2009 and 2010 teams were far from being mentally weak. That was the biggest problem with our 2008 team and is a main reason we essentially swapped ariza for artest

I didn't get this at all obviously

I must be misremembering on the games. I remember Game 2 well when Pietrus (maybe? dude who played for Golden State at some point?) missed the bunny at the buzzer that would have either tied it or won it.

I know a few games in Orlando could have gone either way.

Game 1 Courtney Lee missed a lay up at the buzzer to steal a game in LA.

eta: I guess it was Game 2: LINK

It might have been Courtney Lee.

I didn't follow too closely that year because I was busy that postseason, but I did watch.

Yeah the only reason I knew remembered it was because I watched a bunch of Courtney Lee videos on youtube when the Grizzlies traded for him.

yea games 3 and 4. Magic won game 3, fisher hit two mega clutch shots in game 4 and we won in OT. Blew them out in games 1 and 5

THAT game. Yeah, I thought Orlando was going to win the whole game. Obviously changed the whole series.

I have mad respect for Fisher but I hate how clutch he is. My friends and I used to joke back in like 2010 if Fisher would have been a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd team All-American in college basketball Yet he would always drill important shots.

The Lakers were better. If they were an 8/10, Orlando was a 6/10. But at the same time that series could have easily gone 7.

I'm sure you remember game 3 in 2010

Hell he drilled a huge three in game 7 to tie it up with like 4 minutes to go

we joke but he probably wouldn't have he was so fricking bad but he always just came through. Theres a reason why he is Kobes favorite teammate of all time

it was close than the 4-1 suggests
