Between Villar, Mier, the IFA from last year, Correa, and Fontana someone should be able to play SS.

Dodgers with a nice pick, Steven Rodriguez LHP out of Florida. He could be in the bigs pretty quickly.

Giants up!

nice job by SF. like bringing in a local guy (from Sacramento). destined for the bullpen, IMO.

Martin Agosta of St. Mary's

Williams is an interesting pick for the Rangers, any idea how much that will cost?

That 1st pick won't be a SS long, dude is 6'3" and 175 if he grows anymore they may move him
Especially if he gets to like 6'5" and puts on 20-25 pounds of muscle

I like this Kivlehan kid the Mariners just took. Played football his whole career at Rutgers then decides to give baseball a shot and is one of the best hitters in the country.

With the 115th selection the Giants take OF Mac Williamson.

2012 for Wake Forest:
188 ABs
.287 avg
17 HR
52 RBI
112 total bases

quote:

2011 (Redshirt Sophomore)
Started every game in left field for Wake Forest ... Was the team's most consistent hitter throughout the season, finishing the year with a team-best .273 batting average ... Also led the team with 12 home runs, 49 RBIs, 56 hits, 205 at bats and 101 total bases ... Was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 46th Round of the 2011 Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft ... Upon the completion of Wake Forest's season, his 12 home runs were tied for second in the ACC ... Put together a career-high 13-game hitting streak from March 26 until April 13 ... Went 18-for-48 during the stretch for a .375 batting average ... Recorded at least one hit in 38 of the Deacs' games, including a team-best 14 multi-hit games on the year ... His 15 games with at least two RBIs also were a team lead ... Was also a threat on the base paths with 11 stolen bases on the year ... Recorded a pair of multi-HR games - one at UNC Greensboro on April 12 and one at Maryland on May 20 ... Had much success in two games against Charlotte ... Went 2-for-2 with his first-career grand slam and five RBIs on the road on March 15 ... Followed that with a 4-for-6 performance against the Niners on May 22 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored ... Turned in four RBIs against both UNC Greensboro (April 12) and Winthrop (April 19) ... Earned his 100th career base hit and scored three runs in a win over Boston College on May 7 ... Had a pair of three-hit games on the year ... Wake Forest went 8-2 in games that he homered ... Was the only Demon Deacon to hit a home run in the 2011 ACC Baseball Championship, launching a solo shot against Virginia in the tournament opener.

Like this pick a lot. Has the potential to develop into a five tool player.

My friend, Colin Rodgers, got picked 100th overall to the Royals. He signed with Auburn but I'm thinking there will be a chance that he wont go. Anyone know what kind of money he'll be offered?
