I completely agree. The saints were a good team that year. Sure the ball bounced their way, but they were there to capitalize.

Yeah, they are. It's been embarrassing and has made me cheer for the Falcons the rest of the way.

The Saints were a really fricking good team and definitely worthy of being Super Bowl, but in my biased opinion, I thought the Vikings were the best team in the league. Of course, the Saints got the glory.

That is the only sporting event that has made me lose sleep. Absolutely heartbreaking loss, but it was still my favorite Vikings season ever, since I was only 7 in 1998 and only have vague memories of Moss balling as a rook.

Has there ever been a team that was dominated more than the Saints were in a conference championship game and still won?

1994 AFC Championship Game. The Steelers out-gained the Chargers in total yardage 415 to 226 and were clearly the better team but Cowher choked at home in the AFC Championship Game like he always does.

1994 must have been a bad year to dominate the stats.

Dallas put up 451 yards
San Fran put up 294
San Fran won by 10

Didn't know that. Good thing for Steelers fans that they have enough SB victories to make them forget.

Vikings are the real 2009 Super Bowl champs.

If they were Alabama, they would claim the title.

I can honestly see the Falcons game turn out like this. I expect Kaepernick to turn the ball over a couple times and give us a really short field. I also don't expect us to move the ball at will. For the most part we have had success with takeaways this year.

They were out gained in practically every category besides the LUCKY turnovers they got.

The Saints defense was solely designed to force turnovers. It was almost turnover or bust. They were willing to take huge gambles because they knew their offense could march right back up the field and counter.

Where the Saints did get really lucky in 2009 was the mere fact that such a high number of turnovers ended up going for defensive TD's. You cannot plan that shite, but everything just went their way. Great game plan for a team without a great defense and Drew fricking Brees.

I still hate Shaun Suisham for shanking a fricking 24-yarder that would have put the Redskins up 10 to ice the game. Cost the Vikings home field.

+1 that team was badass and one of the most "complete" teams in recent memory. The saints were great that year too thou which made for one of best title games I've ever seen.

Actually, the 49ers jumped out to a huge lead in that game and Aikman piled up a ton of yardage in garbage time after the game was already decided. I don't think the better team lost in the 1994 NFC Championship Game. The Steelers were clearly a better team the mediocre Chargers in 1994, had a 10 point lead in the second half and still found a way to lose that game.

EL OH OL. Are you seriously talking about winning games despite getting outplayed? That's most of your wins podna. Enjoy it for a few more days before the 49rs come destroy the GA dome

That team had an incredible knack for coming up with the big play at the right time. I hope that Falcons can do the same these next two games.
