I just came across this on YouTube and that was awesome. I was 7 years old when this happened so I never knew about this. Mel Kiper Jr was pissed the Colts passed on Trent Dilfer to take Marshall Faulk and called them out on tv. Colts GM said who the hell is Mel Kiper Jr and he don’t tell us what to do lol.

It’s a tough job to rank every eligible draft player. I actually think he does a nice job providing a POV on best available prospects as teams work through the draft.
This is a highly in exact science with high failure rates. It makes any of these analysts easy targets but it’s way better than nothing.

This. They had 2 picks & the Alberts over Dilfer set him off. Not Marshall Faulk.
Kiper was correct at how bad an organization it was.

My beef with mock drafts aren’t the guys who make them. It s the fans who consider it an absolute and kill their front office if they “reach” on a player like Daniel Jones. Who the frick coined Kiper an expert over actual GMs?

That’s not correct, he said they should have taken Dilfer over Trev Alberts who they took #5 and while Dilfer was nothing special he was starting in the Super Bowl while Alberts was already on TV

I do agree with fans taking mock drafts( which I enjoy ) as gospel.
