Such an amazing time. Billy Graham gives the invocation, mentions God and ends it "in the Name of Our Savior, Jesus Christ." This couldn't happen today.
Both schools' bands play the National Anthem together on the field. this wouldn't happen today.
Game delayed waiting on President Nixon's arrival.
Bud Wilkinson teaching the nation this new fangled Wishbone offense.
Life was so simple as a seven year old football junkie.

A great game. I remember watching James Street weaving in and out of the Arkie defense for the winning TD....but Bud was not coaching OU at the time.

What does this have to do with anything?

An observation of how the times have changed. Sorry to trigger you, but there are still some Believers in the world.

some things don't change, just before the 2 minute mark it lists the Top 10

1) Texas 2)Arkansas 3) Penn State 4) Ohio State 5) USC
6) Missouri 7) Michigan 8) Notre Dame 9) LSU 10) Tennessee

50 years later only one school had a losing record

You also left out the most obvious and biggest difference in college football then vs now.

UT was an all white team, the last all white team to win a national title.

I grew up in a holy-roller family. Christian's Fairy Tales don't bother me.

This is the absolute pinnacle of Arkansas fan angst, that many of us belive to be a curse.

It's worse than Stoerner's fumble... Worse than Reggie Fish's muffed punt in the 2006 sec title game, and even worse Than the 2018 college world series...becaue it's football and it its Texas. It perfectly encapsulates how we all belive our team will always snatch defeat from the jaws of victory
