Koepka also admitted he doesn't practice at all for regular tournaments so I'm not sure why we're using him as an example for anything. He's like the epitome of an outlier.

He is the ultimate “I prep different for majors” guy, and yet he still maintains the 2 a month pace

And for him to play one tournament in between each major, does that not put him on a 2 tourney a month schedule?

The Master's was the first week in April. The British is in the third week of July. He took off two weeks before the Masters. SO in the past 18 weeks, this will be his 7th event. So no, that doesn't really put him playing, on average, 2 tournaments per month. he front loaded his season early and has played sparingly since major season started, which is basically exactly what the guy you're arguing with said. And why do you keep naming players in the primes of their careers when this entire discussion began talking about older players on tour and how the new schedule has affected them. Are you just trying to move the goalposts until you're right?

The funny part about this is you don’t realize it hurts the terrible arguments you continue to make

....and admitted he doesn’t practice at all for non-majors. Kind of frees up a lot of time don’t you think? Your whole argument was built around practicing 8 hours a day 5-7 days every week. Your words, not mine. Koepka doesn’t do that. He just goes out and plays a tournament every couple weeks “to practice”

Very entertaining the tap dancing you’re doing in here. He’s the ultimate doesn’t care about non-majors, not the ultimate prep for majors guy. Based on his comments he doesn’t prep much at all for anything

This is some fine cherry pickin here. Adding in 2 off weeks before the masters. Throw those out, 7 tournaments in 16 weeks is dangerously close to 2 a month

Not really

Why would you throw out the two weeks he took off to prepare for the first major? Because it hurts your argument?

Because week 1 was a tournament in a different country with a $3mm purse, week 2 was the Valero, and he hadn’t been beaten down yet by what you seen to think is a gauntlet of a schedule

ETA: Nevermind you’re wrong, he played in the match play 2 weeks before masters, the event in Punta Cana was opposite field

Which puts us at 8 tournaments in your 18 weeks, even closer to 2/month

Koepka has a very bland personality, has admitted he gets bored playing golf, and just said this week leading up to The Open that he doesn't practice. He really does nothing to inspire the casual viewer to want to watch him. His talent and winning speaks for itself, but I don't agree that he moves the needle getting the average joe to tune in.

I don't think Koepka cares about TV ratings or what the average joe thinks.

Why does the camerawork at the Open always seem subpar? Doesn’t look good, almost as bad as Fox for tracking the ball, etc

Keep moving those goalposts, you might eventually have a valid point

That's a good question. Tommy Roy, NBC's Executive Producer is the best in the business now that Frank Chirkanian is no longer with CBS. With the amount of coverage they are providing I'm sure they are using some Golf Channel assets particularly on the cameras. There were times this morning that I couldn't follow shots into the green nor follow the ball once it landed on the green. Hopefully it will be better tomorrow. And I might add that NBC's announcing crew can offset some of the shitty camera shots. They have surpassed CBS and are now #1 in my mind.

Never said he did care, nor was his caring the topic of conversation. What was being discussed was his lack of coverage by the media. Whether or not Koepka cares is/was irrelevant.

At some point, Tiger will have to change his game. He can't drive with the big boys and trying to do it like he used to just ain't working. He can't muscle his way around the course anymore and it shows.
