I've said it before and I'll say it again, Kansas firing Mark Mangino was one of the worst decisions made by a major program in college football history.

Did he s--- in a towel and give it to a manager or was that Rick Majerus? I feel like I heard the same story about both fat guys.

Kansas, Mizzou, West Virginia, and Arizona State all were in the top 6 of the BCS standings going into Thanksgiving and choked away national title shots in those final 2 weeks. Would be nice to see that kind of parity come back

Not to mention USF and BC also being in the top 10 at various points during the year.

Wasn't South Florida #1 in the BCS one week that year?

Had to look it up. USF and BC each made it as high as #2 in the first 2 weeks of BCS rankings that came out in October.

The things this man did at Kansas needs to be studied and analyzed because he pulled off a GD miracle at that
football wasteland

Would that be physically possible for Mangino to do without some help with the towel?

Cal got to #2 at some point too. Don't remember how high Oregon got but they were bowling teams over till Dixon got hurt.

For one week in late September. They were also ranked in the top ten for a week the previous season as well.

Oregon also got as high as number 2 before losing their last three regular season games.
