Pog big win today, Unless he has gone to hard to early I think he is the clear favorite for the rest of the race.

Watching Chris Horner's video - he pointed out something I didn't notice on the broadcast. The a-hole that put the chips bag in Pogacar's face seems to have thrown chips in Jonas's face as he went by.
It's time for cycling fans to start beating these people right there on the road. Just leave them in a bloody heap. This guy has to be found and arrested and sent to jail. This shite irks me every year. What in the hell are you doing messing with a rider?
Video is cued. And it's a good shot of the fan. They could find this guy if they really wanted to, and make an example out of him.

Pog must be efficient but he's ugly as hell on the bike the way he hunches over and mashes the pedals like he's stomping bugs.
Not quite on the level of Froome when it comes to crimes against souplesse but not far off.

Well, we all can't be Sir Bradley.
What is funny is I spent decades trying to perfect pedaling perfect circles to please the French. So many hours on a fan-loaded trainer trying to get the perfect continuous whoosh. But the recent studies tend to show you get more power from mashing the pedals and it is just as or more efficient. I am so old and slow now I just subscribe to the Sydney Deane approach vs the Billy Hoyle approach: I wanna look good first and win second.

Yeah I was watching some old vids recently and watching Virenque I couldn't help but thinking that he may have been a total weasel but the guy looked like he was born to ride a bike.
I didn't start riding seriously until the early nineties so it's always been clipless for me, I was taught to visualize scraping mud off my shoe. Maybe the old school souplesse is a relic of the age of toe straps.

Sounds like he did get arrested and is having charges pressed against him.

The sauce is strong today. These dudes are destroying the field

Tadej is too strong this year to ride him off the wheel. Going to have to try to attack.

Good. Hope he rots in prison for the rest of his life. Thanks.

These guys are destroying Pantani's climbing record lmao

Pogacar is riding away with this. I'm curious what Visma's strategy is going forward.

While he is much better than expected, Jonas crashing likely ruined his chance at a three peat.

I knew it was over at 10k to the top and Pog grabbed a bidon and sat up hands off the bars to take a drink/wet his jersey and he didn't even lose a half stroke to Jonas' wheel and it was a 7% grade.
That last 5k was destruction.
Anyone see the baw at 2.4k left mooning Pog?
I'm pretty sure I heard Pog cue this up as he crossed the line:

Pog could possibly have eliminated Cav with that climb just now
Posted on 7/14/24 at 10:25 am to Obtuse1
Pogi broke Pantani's climb record by nearly 4 mins

I doubt the director cuts the gruppetto on this stage unless they are WAY outside the limit.

The sprinters all made the time cut
This is the best climbing performance in modern cycling, especially at the end of a very long, hard stage in 90+ degree temps. I'm sorry I can't believe in miracles...

We’re watching an extraordinary athlete in prime condition. Remco riding his way to the podium albeit minutes and minutes behind. Good for him.

You gotta be Captain Naivte' to think these riders aren't juiced to the gills. There was a couple of years post Lance's expose' where PED use was significantly reduced. IMO the products suffered. Just personally I am fine with adult/pro PED use, you can't stop it so you might as well enjoy it. Antidoping is always reactive where doping is proactive it is hard to catch them in the moment unless the riders are just stupid like Floyd drinking "Jack Daniels" after stage 16 in '06.
Free Lance.
