Did anyone listen this morning to the guy filling in for RP3? He was phenomenal. I wish he would get that gig because the show plays during drive time for me. Does anyone know who he is?

This guy was not just an improvement he was very good. And yes RP3 is hard to listen to. I can’t deal with his fake laugh

He's on there every morning as the producer. But he is WORLD'S better than RP3.
It's crystal clear that RP3 doesn't even watch 90% of the sports he talks about. He just reads off box scores.
D-Lo provides actual input, and educated thoughts/opinions about a lot of stuff. It's usually followed by passive aggressive comments from RP3, because he's insecure.
RP3 tried to say the other day that you should expect your relief pitchers in MLB to not give up any runs ever. D-Lo said that wasn't realistic, and RP3's response was that it's a loser mentality. RP3, along with Miguez in the afternoon, are complete garbage as sports radio guys.

Kid is very articulate, knowledgeable about the sports subject matter, and his takes are convincing as you can tell he knows the game. Sadly, RP3 ain't much better as he'll have decent sports take, then immediately follow it up with ramblings about his family and food. 103.7 The Game just "re-branded" to ESPN 103.7. Moscona has been hired for the afternoon, drive home segment after Jordy. Gonna be interesting to see to transition, daily sports content, and if MM can move the needle for the local sports audience.
on a separate note, what happened to ESPN 1420 am a.k.a. The GOAT 103.3FM ? That station went to shite and disappeared like the ivory-billed woodpecker. I remember Town Square Media making staff changes several years ago to save money as they basically committed sports talk radio suicide.

Spot on assessment of what happened at 1420. I would listen religiously everyday to never listening in the span of about 6 months.

103.7 has the worst local talent on earth. They don’t know anything about sports, don’t know who the players are, who plays for who and they just ramble like idiots talking about their weird fantasy scenarios for the Saints and Pels…. “Ooh, what if the Pels trade for Lebron” or “I think the Saints can move up to #3 in the draft and trade the pick for Lamar Jackson”. These people are retards, they can’t breakdown sports and you get no info from their programs.

I haven’t listened to local sports talk since i got out of college in ‘16. Is ESPN 1420 still around. I used to love me some Kevin Foote and Big Dave (RIP)

Foote is actually on 103.7 now. He doesn't have the greatest personality in the world, but he's very knowledgeable about the Astros and Saints, and he doesn't get too far away from that. So, if you like hearing in depth about those two things, he's solid. Some of his takes are outrageous, but I don't have to agree with what he says to want to listen.
RP3 doesn't go in depth about anything, and if he tries he comes off sounding incredibly dumb usually. It's literally just reading off box scores. He goes in depth on Wednesday, with his "foody poll question of the day." You can tell that's his passion, and not sports. Dawson didn't do the dumb food poll question today, and there were people throwing a fit over it on Twitter. I can't wait for the changes. I think they would be much better served giving Dawson his own morning show during that morning slot, instead of having a national show. The changes coming are much needed though.

Ben Love was solid and you could tell he had a passion for sports and interacting with his audience. Real good dude who I miss on air. Unfortunately, these jobs don’t pay peanuts as the hosts have to sell radio advertising to earn more money

3-4 yrs ago, Town Square Media (ESPN 1420) let Jay Walker and Kevin Foote go. Stevie P’s hours were also cut. They then re-branded to The GOAT 103.3 as I’m pretty sure they lost their ESPN affiliation. Program Director Scott Prather left several months ago and I think Stevie P also left the station.
