Hes only come from this far back twice ... I just dont think he can do it and history is on my side.
This makes a hell of a lot more sense than, "he's shot himself out of it, there are too many people in front of him" after day 1. If he was in this position going into Sunday, I'd wholeheartedly agree with you. If you look at the leader board, about half of the guys in front of Tiger have had massive choke jobs really recently:
DJ - 2010 US Open
Fowler - Memorial last year
Furyk - all of 2012
Sergio - most of his career has been a big gag
Scott - British Open last year
Couples - not really a choke, but held last year's 36 hole lead and faded
And the rest of them aren't likely to be steady enough to put up 3 more rounds of 70 or better.

The highlights I seen from Lieshman, he made every putt he looked at today... no way he keeps that up for the next 54 holes.

I think the discrepancy here is that people who root for Tiger have no doubt that every major he plays in, he's going to win, kill everybody, set a record, etc. It never fails. On the other hand, you have people who actively root against Tiger, saying he will either never win a major again, or won't until "something" happens. This also never fails.
This is a fair assessment. It's no secret that I hope Tiger wins, and I pull for him to do so, but I feel like I'm objective about Tiger. When he's out of it, I'll say so. I just think it's ludicrous to say he's out of it when he's T13 after 1 day, history or not.

I think it's too early to tell for this tournament.

Some people take message boards entirely too seriously.

Who? Dukke?
He can at times no doubt.
I'm waiting for him to challenge someone to a fight.

I'm not entirely sure, somewhere in his 60's
ETA: Apparently he is 52

52, but you would swear he's 72.

Best we can guess, in his late 50s. But apparently he'll go Kim Jong Il on your arse on a golf course.

Well how did he get in this position in the first place?
He was +1 over the last five holes. He shot himself out of it. Watch and see. He is going to play well the rest of fhe way and lose by a couple. If he had played that stretch better today he would have won IMHO

Wait I seem to remember him saying he watched ALL of JACKS career.
If he is 52, he would have been born in 61. He probably missed the first 8 or 9 years of Jacks career
ETA: I doubt he watched Jack win his first 7 majors from 62-67.
So I'm thinking he's actually seen Tiger win more majors than Jack.

he may very well not win this tournament, but i don't think he lost it today.

He beat or tied 80 out of 93 players in the field in just 18 holes.
I agree that he missed a chance to get into even better position. And if today was Saturday, he'd be fricked. He's got time to make it up, and the leaders have a lot of time to frick up as well. I'm not saying he'll win, but he's not out of it. If he doesn't keep pace tomorrow, it'll be a different story.

This is perfectly rational. Anything else isn't.
