Not sure what I am picking and choosing.

FACT: He has won the Masters 3 times after shooting a first round score of 70.

This fact doesn't matter to you.

In fact in only TWO of his majors has he had as many people to pass up as he does this week.

This fact does.

ETA: Neither of those facts mean anything to me. I believe Tiger has a shot to win and a shot to finish outside the Top 40.

Thoae guys at the top of the leaderboard are good these days though. It isnt the 90s where people arent really good that are on the top of the board. There have been guys that havent won majors come out and shoot low for 4 rounds and win it.

There are more players capable of winning in this field than ever before

So Tiger can't win because there are 21 people tied with or above him Obviously he will need to play better to win, but with 3 rounds to play it's far from insurmountable.

I informed you in my first post about those looking at the actual number are doing it wrong because that does't matter but the position (i.e. how many guys are ahead of you does) ... Courses change over the years and play easier and harder so looking at the actual number is meaningless.

Tiger would love to shoot a 70 at Pebble during the US Open .. not so much during the Bob Hope ...

What the hell is going on in here?

It's Thursday, there's plenty of time left, especially considering it'll be a completely different course if it rains tomorrow

I just get sick and tied of the tiger lovers thinking he has a chance to win this thing when history says otherwise ..

I am outta here. See you fellas on Sunday .. When as I predicted. Ian Poulter is putting on the green jacket

You come off as unintelligent right now, you're usually a solid poster.

Lolz. Poulter can come back from 10 down, but Tiger can't come back from 4?

I remember that time he overcame the 64 people ahead of him to win a major all those times

All I'm saying is that it is Thursday, any one who's played competitively knows that is more than enough time

Jesus Christ.. the last time he won the Masters he was down 7 after round 1 and behind 30+ golfers..

And if you want to say he shot mid-60's on the weekend that's fine.. let's look at the year before that, Mickelson was down 5 after round 1 and behind more players than Tiger is this year.. and he didn't shoot any lower than 69 over the weekend and still won.

There is your history.
