Which of his policies do you think will motivate the stock market?

Investors will anticipate a huge injection of cash as Joemala and the DNC spend American tax payer dollars on liberal pet projects at a feverish pace.

That doesn't stimulate the economy, consumer spending does. You can't put a bunch of money into electric cars and solar power, that's chump change compared to the economy as a whole.

If consumer spending is down due to business closures, there's absolutely no way to inject life into the economy. The economy works by everyone spending, not by small sectors leading while everyone else has nothing to spend or saves.

We aren't talking about the economy as a whole. We're talking about Biden policies that will stimulate the stock market. Obviously, no policies will stimulate the entire market, but certain sectors would certainly see an uptick because when investors see Uncle Joe handing out cash for infrastructure, and other pet projects that the dem's have in mind, they'll start dumping money into companies that stand to benefit.

Sure, but OP was talking about VTI and other entire market funds. If we are discussing individual stocks that's a completely different question.

I agree that the buy opportunity was today but I may be wrong.
Even the smartest investors make mistakes. My advice is to learn by investing when YOU think you should.
Just use small amounts until you gain experience

Don't try to time the market.

If it's a good deal, buy.

Why average down. If you think the market is going down get out and buy more when it does go down. I never understand that thinking.

Really? You never understand the thinking that you cant predict when the market is going up or down?

If that's the case, please tell me when to buy and sell. You should be a billionaire by now.

After the second day of dipping I bought in. I wish there was a re-spawn on that.

Next time I'll wait until the rally actually sets in!

Tdoc at 195 seems like a good price. Will see what happens over the next few days.

Earlier this year I grabbed the "falling dagger" for the S & P 500 Index but it took six increments to do so. It did not take long to recover and profit handsomely.

This time I am looking to take a greater position if it falls to the 3220 category. That will be a 10% drop from the historic high of 3581.

The S & P index closed at 3270 Oct 30th and 3509 yesterday.
My purchase target was 3220 category.

Missed a 7.3% swing and handsome profit but I had guidelines.
