Without looking into the specifics, I'm guessing:

- Slowing Economy --> Companies Trimming Ad Budgets --> Less Revenue for Lamar

Gotta be linked to oil and gas down here is all I can guess.

Revenue and estimates improved last quarter.

43% though?!

Why?

They're a national company. IIRC they have like 300k billboards.

Strange. It looks like they had their stock drop to almost $7 in 2009. People may be assuming advertising budgets get cut in a recession (if we are heading that way?)

You understand that almost every stock is falling like a weight in water right? Is your head buried in the sand?

There is some concern with customer concentration at Lamar. If Louisiana were to go the way of Texas and outlaw legal advertising on billboards Lamar would be screwed.

This post is fairly ignorant. Stocks outside of the energy sector are not dropping to the tune of 40%

Apparently there was liquidity problem due to low volume. It's back around $80 now.

This is strange. It opened at 69.52 and then this happened...

So, out of the halt it dropped to $45 then got down to $42 and it seems that the stock itself was halted for nearly an hour then it opened back up at $77.50 at 10:49 est. Weird.
