This!

This sure worked for me. "Pay yourself First" changed my financial life. I preach it to my kids. I created a doc that I named "Get Rich Slow" to help educate my family.

“Full ported” my emergency fund of $20k into TSLA in 2023 at $142. Sold most of it over $350 and some over $400. Bought a few stinkers but the majority of it into NBIS at $45 and $55. My “emergency fund” has funded 3 years of Roth’s(back into NBIS), $10k of student loans, and another $10k in house upgrades and it’s still over $100k. Still have my “safe” investments in QQQ and S&P in my 401k.

I have to admit I was told this by a co-worker after I landed a good job. I had a lot of life changes and did not pay myself as much as I should have.

For the past several years I have, and in major chunks. It's now starting to become an avalanche.

I am noticing that getting on base is more important than power swinging for the triple or home run. Sure its fun to try for the homer, but the standard is a base hit. It adds up!

2008. I was solidly invested in the market and fortunately I had money on the sidelines. It was super stressful watching the market drop more than 700 points in a single day during those times of the "great recession".
I stayed invested however and made additional investments as the market was in free-fall. Those decisions ultimately played a major role in putting me in a position to retire early.

I’ll admit though- since then, I’ve never been very good at timing the market. ??
