I’m starting to do some of the think or swim exercises on trading futures. Does anyone here trade futures? Seems like a great way to make money in the evening, once you know what you are doing if you don’t have much time during the work day to day trade.

yes. i did it with paper charts, newspapers, TV tickers and a phone 20 plus years ago when i started. no computer or anything. used to call a broker. much easier now.

I took a course and taught myself how to trade. also read TRADING BY THE BOOK by Joe Ross. Book costs about 100 bucks but is worth it. good luck.

I don't do futures because I am a conservative investor (so I may be corrected by the people who are expert) but my perception is futures traders should not be unable to respond if a stock abruptly charges in value. I suppose if you have failsafe outs for your options that problem is mitigated.

A lot of the YouTube videos I've seen of people sharing their screens focus on Nasdaq Futures. I don't care to play oil and coffee futures.

Don’t trade futures unless you want to be “on call” 24/7. Amateurs lose money probably 95%+ of the time in these markets, especially Forex.

Everyone is different but likely years (if at all) to become consistently profitable if your trading in and out like a day trader. Trade paper until you're consistent....then cash (small) until you can control your emotions.
