Twitter- The One That Cares Less Controls

I can see Elon walking away while Twitter sues him for performance.
If I had to guess, he doesn't really care which way it goes. He would be happy to be out of the transaction all together, or happy with buying at a discount.
Thoughts?

I would hope he's trying to get it at a discount, after popping off some idiotic number.
But who knows, maybe he'll walk away and lose more. Maybe he never meant it in the first place. His track record is abysmal.

The Delaware court forcing Elon to pay full price, Elon refusing and being sent to jail for contempt so he becomes a "political prisoner" is the climax these shenanigans deserve.

this is an obviously delusional viewpoint. one of the most successful individuals in the history of the world has an abysmal track record...yea ok

.... but Musk!
Musk should go to jail for "shenanigans" which even the contract allows for.

Melt!

Why are all the lefties so mad that Elon won’t buy Twitter? Most lefties were melting at that very idea, now you want to force him to buy it?

Twitter sucks and needs reform. Banning the President of the US was a disgrace. Maybe it works out well for Elon and he gets a discount on his purchase price, but if you told me that somebody wanted to buy a company and...
- picked a share price with a weed joke
- said he wanted to buy the company to resolve a problem (bots)
- signed a contract knowing (or at least should have known) that the company had given themselves a shitload of wiggle room in disclosure regarding the problem
- then claimed the (bot) problem, one he specifically said was main reason for buying the company, is a material adverse effect
- finally tried to back out of the deal
- Plus he sold shares in his company for the deal he backed out of and has a billion dollar separation fee possibly plus damages.
- And he violated SEC reporting regulations when adding to his position before he announced the takeover bid.
I'd say the guy was a clown, created a circus and that I wouldn't be surprised if finale was as dramatic as possible.
Twitter probably violated terms of the deal in firing key employees without Elon's approval but we'll see how much the Court cares about that.

He’s not going to jail in any scenario. Do you honestly think a single billionaire saw what happened to Epstein and thought “I’ll definitely trust these guys to protect me in the event that I get in trouble”?
Nah.
He’ll flee the country before that happens. As should anyone with his means. The justice system is a joke at this point and I pity anyone who gets into a predicament reliant on it.

Even if you think him an irredeemable douchbag, you might want to revaluate the logic of calling the business record of the world’s richest man “abysmal.”
Dude may have come from a rich family, but all indications are that his father gave him combined less than 100k. Most of that being money he gave all his kids when he came of age.
From that he continually leveraged and springboarded up and up and up.

It is so difficult to find neutral analysis on this turn of events because Musk is so polarizing.
I had on Cavuto this morning who brought on a guest that was so triggered by Musk it blinded and overshadowed the entire legal argument he was trying to make about the difficulty in proving intentional negligence by Twitter in regards to bots
Elon is legitimately both a genius and a dumbass. He's converted massively on enough risky decisions to make him maybe the most important person of the century so far. 100 years from now if people are routinely travelling the solar system he'll be the father of space travel.
But he also comes up with stupid shite like the tunnel company and makes impetuous comments that have no basis in reality, like promising that full self driving is imminent over and over.
Sometime in the near future he'll try to catch a rocket returning to earth with giant chopsticks so we'll what category that falls into. Deciding to build rockets out of steel instead of aluminum/titanium in order to mass manufacture them more cheaply was brilliant.
I think this Twitter deal was impetuously stupid and now his legal team has left trying to clean up the mess. I'd like to see him run Twitter but simply as a deal it's been amateurishly executed.

----
He had plenty of people encouraging him to take it over. After all we need a free speech platform.
I think he's having "presale" buyers remorse.

The meme's great unless you're one of Elon's attorneys because there's a clause in the contract that says Elon can't disparage Twitter (the company) on Twitter.
Probably a little more ammo for Twitter with the Delaware court.

People who don't like him/don't understand all of this do not realize that Musk is Edison AND Einstein at this point, with a dash of Fermi.
Bezos is Sam Walton of this century.
Nobody else is really in the conversation except Putin, W and Obama.
Frankly, W and Obama sort of cancelled each other out and both were net negatives - still "significant", but difficult to put either above Musk at this point with a lot of time left on the clock (W is mostly done and Obama doesn't have as much influence left as some thing).
We won't really be able to judge Putin's ultimate significance for a few years, but really looks to be Musk and Bezos' only real competition to date.
