This appears to be more of a reckoning than a correction...my goodness,

The fundamentals are terrible and the futures roll after the close.

Right now speculation is a downward feedback loop.

It was fun while it lasted, but the P/Es were always too high.

I'm young and cash heavy. Everything I have ever read says take advantage of these situations, just not sure where to go.

Two good Economist issues from last year addressed the sword of Damocles hanging over the global financial markets:

I really think almost all of the big stocks will go to or below their 5 year low shortly.

It will be a great time to buy and then sit tight for the long term

I got scared last time and missed a great buying opportunity. You will not guess the bottom and won't probably come close but my plan is to increase the amount of dollar cost averaging at some point. Then keep doing it going up or down.

I doubt that long-term investors with diverse portfolios should be concerned with this week's sell-off.

The DJIA seems to have followed a consistent curve for over 40 years.

He kept saying one more thread like this and it time to get in. You know, the whole be greedy when others are fearful mantra.

Personally I think this is pretty overblown at this point. I was bearish end of last year and expected a sour 2016, but not this fast. We don't really have any crisis like the tech bubble or housing bubble - so I just think it's an overreaction of low oil and China "slowdown".

Valuations were creeping up the past couple years, but nothing ridiculous IMO. (Besides the typical FANG types) Earnings should be interesting.

He needed 3 "sky is falling" threads before he'd consider jumping in

Needs to keep going lower IMO.

At least for the next 3-4 weeks so I can jump in with full force

Yeah, it probably happened too fast to be the bottom.

But the Money Talk Board's Fear Factor Contra-Indicator has never missed the bottom by much previously, not even in 2009.

So, I bought shares of T at $33.52 today right about BINGO time just before noon.
