Any of the scions of the Money Talk have any good stories about swing trading? That is, finding a stock you knew (based on data, history, or gut feel) was going to swing in a narrow band and you rode it for a while?

I haven't traded in a while, but a couple of times I got lucky with a few no-name stocks that traded in a range for a prolonged period. But that was >10 yrs ago, one stock must've went private, and I'm sure these trends are much easier to spot now.

I made an overnight trade on TGC a year or two ago and made a quick 100%.

Good news on a low float stock that was easily manipulated. I think I got the heads up on Stocktwits and took about a $350 gamble. Went from like .70 to $1.40 within 15 minutes of trading.

LVVV (cannabis penny stock) is very open to swing trading. 50-100% swings on news, but on a daily basis the share price usually fluctuates 10-25% within each day. In the 3 cent range now, so a few tenths of a cent is a nice percentage swing. Poised for a nice run on this Friday evening or next Monday with pending news.

yea I've had success swing trading NTNX and PAYC all the way up...in both cases my total returns ended up being 50% more than if I had just stayed in... but a lot of it was just luck :) ....helps to do it in a bull market though... I've stayed away the last few months...

just make sure you have your upside and downside protected in case of movements and you can do ok. you'll still miss often just be sure when you hit it's big but dont hold on too long or itll all collapse usually
