Hi Mates,

I recently started a thread about being completely debt free for the first time in 3 years. This included in paying off my primary automobile since it is a depreciating asset.

I'm bearish on the market (right or wrong, that's how I feel) and real estate until we get through the next recession. With that in mind, what's a conservative place for me to put some or all of my money and just be happy with anywhere from a 3% to 4% return (or better) with little or no risk? Is such a vehicle even possible?

I thought that might be the case - have never invested in bonds before but thought that might be an option.

I'm always long on the stock market, just not now. My bullshite meter is at an all time high. Once we have a correction I'll be going crazy to dive in headfirst, I just hate buying high - did that before with real estate and it's the worst feeling in the world to me.

I would try to find a cheap investment property but unfortunately there's no such thing in Portland and I'm spending 100% of my free time fixing up our primary home anyhow.

After witnessing what we have done for the past 14 months, I don't know how any logical thinker would think they would let a major recession happen. The floodgates have been opened and they cannot be shut. People got a taste of that sweet sweet stimmy and the markets have a meth addiction to low rates. To think the genie is going to be put back into the bottle in order to cut off capital injections and cheap money, you are absolutely insane.

Invest in stable crypto coin USDC, it memics the dollar and you can get up to 12% in some places

This is the answer if you are looking for low risk. 10-12% interest through Celsius or Nexo for holding US dollar pegged stable coins.

Biggest risk is if the company goes bankrupt, the funds are not FDIC insured. However, far less risk than stocks and much higher returns than bonds.

WMT. Seriously check it out. I haven't seen a more stable mega cap stock. Has been in the $130-$140 range for ever even during all this volatility we have seen in the market recently. Haven't come across another mainstream well known blue chip stock that had such a low correlation to the market (Beta = 0.47). And did I mention that they pay dividends?

I was going to suggest USDC as well. Voyager gives you 9% APY to hold it in your account and they are also coming out with a debit card account as well where your account stays in USDC.
