ROKU

quote:

Roku's (ticker: Roku) range of streaming boxes, dongles and gadgets have proven to be some of the go-to products during the coronavirus pandemic and, as the advertising recovers slowly, Roku will benefit, Benchmark analyst Daniel Kurnos wrote in a note to clients Monday. According to the analyst's checks, advertising has returned to 85% to 90% of its pre-Covid-19 levels, and continues to improve in July. As a result, Kurnos raised his target price to $180 from $153 Monday, while maintaining his Buy rating. Roku's average target price is $135.38, which implies a downside of 9.2% from Monday's close of $149.06, according to FactSet. Of the 20 sell-side analysts who cover Roku, 13 rate it a Buy, five have a Hold, and two rate it a Sell.

quote:

Kurnos also dismissed fears about a TCL-Android TV partnership. (TCL is Roku's primary U.S. partner for TVs using Roku's platform.) The analyst wrote that his team contacted 100 Best Buy stores in almost all 50 states, showing that Alphabet (ticker: GOOGL) has put almost no marketing budget behind the effort and that 63% of the stores said they would recommend Roku's products. The same survey also showed that in the 27% of stores that considered the products the same, Roku's branding led to more inquiries.

thats from monday, ROKU is down following NFLX today, but i think its still a buy

I'm long roku, so I'm not going in and out.
I expect them to meet or beat expectations, but I think there'll be a sell-off after earnings.

glad this week is over...down -6% overall.

i hit 90 trading days this week since i re-funded my account and started actively in equities again.

i'm up 102%, which is down from a peak balance on 7/9 (down 10% since then). not bad overall, i resisted the urge to sell out of FSLY at 100. i'm very thankful for the windfall

y'all have a great weekend

Well if it makes you feel any better I’m down 12% this week.

I’m tech heavy, but up 130% for the year. Overall very happy.

FWIW I follow your posts closely. You are a very savvy researcher. Thanks for all your advice up until now.

I agree, I have sold out of several recommendations such as FSLY, TDOC, and LVGO but the quality of those companies can’t be denied.

thanks to you both
just trying to share

here’s something that might be useful

LVGO CEO on Cramer yesterday
quote:

Glen hinting at blowout client growth this coming quarter: “when we talk on August 6, you’re going to hear about a lot more companies moving to $LVGO” Expect to see record EVA, which would bode well for their ability to sustain hypergrowth as signings are seasonally higher in H2

FSLY ER on 8/5. LVGO on 8/6. Sell all FSLY morning of 8/6 after spike and put it in LVGO before ER AH?

Assuming it does a ridiculous move like doubling or tripling? Then after lvgo release you split it back apart again for long term?
