is three blowout quarters in a row for PINS and they are guiding 70% growth for Q1 2021. It’s not a mirage PINS is putting on big boy pants
Cgrand, I appreciate your tips on PINS. I bought at 68 the others day when someone mentioned it on that dip. What do you think this stock can get to? Still an ok entry point in the 80’s to put 20kish?

Keep an eye on FSLY.
Yep. I’ve been in FSLY since the 30’s — thanks to cgrand. After watching it for 8 months, I think I would need anti-depressants to ride calls into their earnings.

Unless news of a merger screws it up, I’m not selling a single share for anything less than $200.

Have you had a few missed picks along the way?
generally my misses (many) come from a lack of patience.
when I look back on the positions I sold too early or sold for a loss it makes me nauseous
in spring 2020 I bought 1000 PINS at 16.50. I sold out for a 3% loss a month later because i panicked

Really appreciated all your posts and observations. Made a lot of money following along here with you. Keep posting your buys and your sells. I, and probably a lot of others, are really grateful

Well, I was planning to write up a post about Magnite (MGNI) today. It's a combo of Telaria and Rubicon and makes up the largest independent sell-side digital ad company. They're really positioning themselves to take off in the digital advertising and CTV market. Their earnings at the end of this month could be a launching point.
Welp...they announced a nice acquisition of SpotX to further move into the CTV advertising world and its up 25% PM.
At this point, put it on your watchlist. I mentioned it a few months back, bought at 21 and sold at 33 after I found some bad press. Now it's 54. Look for dips back to 35-40, if they ever come. It's going to be a rollercoaster either way and a potential lotto ticket.

Just stay away from the pump pieces that say MGNI will be the next TTD. They are on the sell-side of the transaction, while TTD is on the buy side. TTD also has a relatively low float, which led to it stock price.
That said, MGNI is definitely going the same route as TTD to focus on being a one stop shop for sell-side digital advertising. If you want to look at competitors, PUBM went public this year and also a good potential opportunity.

thanks for this I’ll spend some time on it

Off hand, would you happen to know what TTD provides that MGNI or PUBM doesn't (yet)?

after i sold my position at 16.50, i watched it jump up to 30 after the 2Q20 earnings report. i said "frick this" and went back in and have been adding ever since.
do with that info what you think is best.
here is everything you need to know about PINS, on one sheet

They're on opposite sides of the transaction. In simplistic term, think of it from the physical perspective as MGNI/PUBM is finding the ideal place to setup billboards and they sell that ad space, then TTD is contracting with say truck stops and going to MGNI with requests for ad space on billboards a long I10 with specific locations relative to those truck stops.
Extremely oversimplistic and obviously not apples to apples -- because this also involves CTV, mobile devices, web traffic, etc. -- but hopefully gives you the gist of what's occurring.

do you think OTT streaming is going to increase or decline? do you think a real competitor to ROKU is likely in the near future? do you think advertising on OTT steaming platforms is likely to increase or decrease? do you think people who buy a TV with the ROKU platform built-in are likely to choose a different platform to stream?
ROKU's price has nothing to do with "this market". look at their revenues, their penetration and their potential. what other platform is out their with this kind of lead?
