Just opened an executive transport business...

Mercedes sprinters. Think private jets on wheels.

Airport transfers
Concerts
Dallas to austin
Dallas to houston
Dallas to Oklahoma City
Dallas to Shreveport

Football game tailgating packages as we have a smoker and a cargo trailer

Have insurance
Have drivers
Have scheduling software

Yes... I’m halfway advertising, but also asking, what am I missing?

Been taking reservations for three weeks Monday and the response has been overwhelming.

I would add a solid maintenance schedule and have a routine check point inspection of sorts before each roll out of the garage for a job.

When you’re dealing with high end paying clients, there is no worse advertising than word of mouth from those who have spent an couple of hours on the side of the road do to a breakdown.

While keeping these on the road as much as possible keeps the revenue coming in, a little lost time on the lift bay for maintenance will help do the same in the long run.

I would imagine the cost of labor and commodities rising doesn't help your bottom line.

That and people almost certainly renting these to get hammered and not care about your shite this seems like a lot of work for not a great return.

I certainly could be wrong

Storage space. Assuming you have it, it’s legal, and you have room for growth? In a big city storing 10 vehicles could be very pricey and it could be almost free.

Jose already has a successful business and access to a labor pool. Guy knows how to run a company.

Depending on the number of employees, you may be missing an OSHA Compliance/EHS Specialist.

Great points, concerns, and suggestions.

We are actually 20 miles from Dallas and have the storage thing handled. Fuel prices could be a concern, but not a huge issue right now.

A good maintenance schedule that is time stamped needs to be available and used.

Did an airport transfer this morning... $300 round trip. Pay the driver $40 per trip. Fuel is about $30 for round trip.

My cost for round trip to airport is $110. Gross profit from this trip is $190.00. Drivers are averaging $40 per trip In tips.

I’ve raised the airport transfers from $260 to $300 and that side of the business hasn’t slowed one bit.

Corporate/private events are the money maker...

$125 an hour, four hour minimum, plus service charge, plus cleaning fee.

Most of the time the sprinters are sitting waiting on people to finish meetings or dinner.

Did some celebrities two weekends ago 10 hours Friday, 10 hours Saturday— $3,000.00.

Ideas on a good maintenance spreadsheet?

Appreciate the comments.

Add on:

We’ve got four sprinters thus far. Started on 6/1/2021 and have a great relationship with a local credit union. Zero down, great rate, great terms.

Ours are 2019 and 2018 and some of them have never been driven... just used for showrooms and trade shows/displays. They all have less than 10,000 miles... some as few as 85. They run about $100k each.

Look into fuel cards with specific truck stops or gas stations. You can save .10/gallon or more typically.
Or reach out to a local fuel supplier and look into having your own tank with bulk fuel. I am in this business and you can save some money. Most fuel suppliers can provide you with a fuel management system that tracks how many gallons used per vehicle and prevents theft.
