“The results of 16-week cyclic corrosion testing of ecosparc® additives using HydroGraph’s Fractal Graphene are highly
encouraging and provide further confidence in the prospect of deepening our collaboration with HydroGraph in
protective coatings. Securing sources of high quality, sustainably produced, western supply of graphene remains a key
focus for Sparc as it builds its customer base and expands its product range across multiple high-value coating
segments."

I'm assuming that Sparc is one of the HGRAF contracts expected in 2026. Even though Sparc is using HGRAF graphene, HGRAF has not announced a contract, yet, so my assumption is that Sparc is still buying low volume amounts of graphene at this point.

Will be interesting to see how much graphene they need, as it will take a huge amount of paint to consume tons of graphene at the load levels they use.

Volume is relatively high - already 40% above the 10-day average and the price is up 30%. Still low total volume, but could this be the start of a bigger move?

I am hoping their partnership with Akzonobel is the catalyst for large orders

Akzo is basically the sherwin Williams of Europe

How much graphene is Sparc buying? Seems to me that marine coatings would be the real market, right? With solvent based paint? That has yet be fully tested.

If HGRAF can meet Sparcs needs with just the production coming out of Austin, then it will be interesting to see if the Akzo contract after the 25 week testing is over creates a backlog...

On the Reddit chat

A reputable poster said 4 to 6 tons

Which, could be one to $1.5 million in revenue to hydrograph

For general paint markets Akzo is big in Europe. But in marine applications quality counts the most and Akzo has a worldwide reputation for high quality. If they successfully go hard after the marine market, including O&G offshore, they will attract a lot of eyes.

Which is probably multiples more than they've ever had before, but not enough for a company valued in the billions.

I've heard that number for the initial LOI, but that is an initial contract. If the product is successful, demand will grow and subsequent orders will come. Right now, they can fulfill that order with the Austin production. It would be nice to see a backlog before they Bellville plant opens.

IMO, they will need to bring that facility on line before any big orders come in. It would be nice to see a bunch of small orders in the meantime and maybe stretch the capabilities of the Austin facility.

I also think we need to rethink what a large order is. If you do the math, even a large auto manufacturer would not need a 1000 tons of graphene per year, at the load levels we're being told about. I think we're going to need a higher number of small/medium contracts to fulfill the potential of this company. Fortunately, there does not seem to be a limit on the number of use cases for graphene.
