Over the next 10 years.
What can we do?

However, secular growth trends in automation, cloud computing artificial intelligence and other cutting edge technology fields have a handful of the best semiconductor stocks well-positioned for long term growth once the trade war eventually dies down.

Infineon Technologies (ticker: IFNNY)
Microchip Technology (MCHP)
ON Semiconductor Corp. (ON)
Qorvo
STMicroelectronics
Skyworks

Any of you day traders are in the Semi Industry?

In and out, the easiest one to trade - INTC - you left off the list. What do you think? You could also just get SMH or SOXX and call it a day if you wanted specific exposure to the sector. Cheers!

Two different populations.

For a long term *investment*, I’d lean toward a well diversified ETF in the semi/chip sector, that doesn’t have a crazy expense ratio. It’s difficult to pick a single winning stock that’s going to outperform the group and/or the market.

For short term underlying tradeables (I only *trade* options), I lean toward AMD, NVDA and SMH when their implied volatility is relatively high. And I’ve followed them enough over the years that I have (something of) a feel for them.

Just curious, but how do you feel about the cloud space and the automation sector? Cloud security has gotten beaten up lately, but that sector is interesting, yes?

For the trading part of my portfolio, semis definitely offer volatility- which is what I want in that space. But even with the “riskier” part of my accounts, I still diversify. If I like a set up on something I’m watching long or short, I don’t discriminate.

I wouldn’t call myself a day trader by any means, but I do swing trade when I have the time and have something that is playing out like I want/expect. INTC seems to obey the laws of technical analysis most of the time and has enough volume for a TPO chart. I’ve had a lot of success on both sides this year. Don’t currently hold it in any account.

We’re happy to answer questions but it seems like you may need to hone in on what you want to ask.

As an investment CY was very good to me, but I sold when they got bought out. Kind of had to take the profit.
