I’ll admit, I’m not experienced in that area.
Just try an experiment. Go sign up for Base44 and frick around a bit.
Don't use any actual information or anything like that, and I think they have a free tier. Base44 isn't exactly the solution I was referencing (as you never "own" the code I don't think and its run on Base44 backend architecture), BUT you can see how easy and fast it is to create random stuff.
Just go and create a CRM that has what you want, without the fluff you don't, and see how quickly you can make it.
There is a particular billing format in my industry that I was unaware of, but needed to change my invoices into that format for a job. It's the only job I have like that and I don't anticipate getting another one soon, so I wasn't going to pay $1k for an annual sub to a LPM that outputs the format.
In 5 minutes on Base44 I had a program that would export the format I needed. Just a single function tool created for a very specific need.

CRM is dead under current management. It’s almost satirical watching Benioff hit Cramer every three months to say Wall Street is out of touch, and then watch the stock continue to plummet.
Then you switch to the message boards to gauge reaction and all the CRM employees and customers gather to bitch that none of the initiatives Benioff promoted even work properly and proceed to meme all of his software and AI updates. This has happened non stop for more than 8 quarters…

Thanks for the responses, I'm out on this sinking ship.

Once its coded, you don't have to worry about token costs
Until you have to provide the users with AI analysis of individual customers based on activity history, revenue history, opportunities and quote closings, etc.
We've integrated AI into an existing CRM platform I work for, and I promise it's not getting any cheaper to tap into the models out there, especially Frontier ones

I mean if you add AI onto ANYTHING you're going to have the token costs for the AI. That's a separate discussion, though.

Monness upgrades Salesforce stock on valuation, AI gains; sees 31% upside
Monness, Crespi, Hardt sees a 31% upside in Salesforce (CRM) shares as the brokerage set a $200 price target, upgrading the software company to Buy from Neutral.
Salesforce's stock has fallen 42% this year and is down 58% from its late-2024 peak.
"We believe the stock’s valuation is now compelling," MCH analysts said.
Monness cited the company's profit margins, cash generation, share buyback program, and efforts to expand its artificial intelligence offerings.
It said concerns that AI could weaken Salesforce's position are overdone, arguing the company is well placed to benefit from wider adoption of AI tools.
"We believe the AI era will usher in new opportunities for Salesforce and ultimately strengthen its position in the software world"
