I am sure this has been discussed many of times on this board but did not see much with a quick google search. I am starting in a new sales position that does not give me a company credit card, now that I have to fill out and turn in expenses again which rewards CC do you recommend?

Really depends on your goals here. What kind of rewards do you want and how much are you spending? Are you traveling a lot?

Im leaning cash rewards, we all ready have a travel rewards card that we pay off every month. This card will just be used for work expenses. Currently, the farthest I will travel is to Houston from BR.

Will you be flying to Houston a lot? Staying in Hotels? Are you driving?
I'd probably get a Citi double cash back card and get 2% on every purchase. Keep it simple.

Houston will only be a few times a year. Probably driving since I will be in training and seeing customers and will be staying in a hotel. I do know that I will have a few high purchases per year with Saints and LSU tickets, sponsoring and playing in golf tournaments etc.

Cash- Discover has good cash back programs
Hotel- Hilton sent me something in the mail last month

I canceled my Citi card several years ago when they gleefully subsidized the Broadway play that depicted President Trump as Julius Caesar getting stabbed to death.

leaning cash rewards, we have a Bonvoy Amex as a family. Any concern with Discover not being expected at some places?

The amex platinum did a 75k bonus recently and tossed in an additional 75k with 10x points on gas and groceries. I converted my gold card for one year and then will go back to it.

If you decide to go the points route Chase Sapphire Preferred is a very strong card.
It's considered a premium card so allows you to transfer points to Chase travel partners, which include Southwest and Hyatt at 1 to 1 ratios, great value in points bookings with both of those companies.
80K bonus currently being offered.
The travel points game can return some extraordinary value if you understand the strategy/game. Much more so than 2% cash back could do for you. Unless you just hate leisure travel of course.

Fidelity has a flat 2% rewards card that is pretty straightforward.

This is what I have...I'd say the Chase Sapphire Reserve could be even better depending on the amount of expenses you'll run through and how much you'll be flying, as I think you get reimbursed for TSF Pre-Check; we went with the Sapphire Preferred because it had a lower annual fee and we typically accrue points for several years before blowing it all in one big trip and otherwise don't really do much traveling/flying.
