I have an old school discover that is only 1% cash back after the first $3K spent in the fiscal year. 5% on quarterly specials.

I also have an AMEX Blue for groceries & gas (6% & 3%).

I'm looking at the Wells Fargo 2% cash back card.

What's the best cash back or rewards card in your opinion?

For those that don't know, if you call discover and talk to a rewards specialist, they can up your cash back 2% on top of what you're already getting.

Fidelity 2% cash back (no fee, limits or categories). Also it's a Visa so it works at Costco.

Have 2 wells cards. One pays me a dollar every time use it. The other pays me 2% on every purchase. Anything under 50 i use the dollar card anything over use the 2% back. If you make a lot of purchases over 100 monthly then the 2% wells card is awesome. With Inflation high pretty normal now to spend that . My weekly Grocery bill is over 200 so that's already 20 bucks back Monthly using 2% card by itself. Get the Wells 2% card its worth it. Averaging close to 40 dollars back just on the 2% wells card Monthly . Add in the dollar back card just for small purchases at gas station/Amazon etc.. Pretty good return for spending Money that wasn't going to make anything using normal methods.

If you get into the Chase program and get one of their premium Sapphire cards, you can pair with Freedom Unlimited which gets 1.5x points on everything.

Then transfer points over to Sapphire portal which gets more bang for points on travel.

It sounds complicated and it's a multi-card system but it works very well and simply.

AmEx Trifecta:

Blue Business Plus: 2 MRs on all purchases

Platinum: 5 MRs on flights purchased through airlines, 5 MRs on travel purchased through AmEx Travel Portal

Gold: 4 MRs on restaurants and grocery stores

Stay away from Wells Fargo. The have awful practices. I had one and used it when I’m college to build credit. I kept a 200 balance on it to raise credit and one random day they decided to put me in default without me missing a payment. Took a year for it to get to the creditors and then another 6 months for me to give them the 200 dollars I owed. Ruined my credit for 7 years. Luckily by the time this happened I already bought my house and have reliable cars so could of been worst

The "Fold" card seems to be all the rage. My son used it to pay his mortgage last month and got $73 in Bitcoin. He also pays his Amex bill through his connected PayPal account and gets BTC rewards as well.

I have the citi double cash (2%) card. It's my go to for most things that I don't have another card specifically for.

No complaints.

I'm confused by this. You say you are getting 1% on the discover and 5% on rotating... but then say you can get them to up it 2% on top?

So wouldn't that give you 3% and be better than all the 2% cards we are discussing?

It's only for 12 months... Started today. I'll try to get them to do it again next year too, but I'll need to be rdy to pull the trigger on another card if they won't extend.

Oh ok. I don't think they'll extend. Just a introductory offer like other cards that give you a thankyou signon bonus.

Like I said I have the citi double cash back card and have had no complaints with it.

I also just got a citi custom cash card that gives 5% on the top category you spend on it in up to 500 dollars. It's going to be my gas card.

Possibly, but I've been with them for 10+ yrs, so it's completely possible that I'll be able to treat them like directv or Sirius radio.
