So, I'm 52. I have $100k in cash left to me from a relative.

My financial goals have been very modest I have to admit. I probably should have done more but I did follow this: never spend more than you make. Except for a house, never use credit unless absolutely necessary. As such I don't have a huge nest egg but this gift has been left to me and I've had it since beginning of Sept.

What would you do with it? How would you invest it? or would you just keep the cash and hold onto it for a rainy day.

At this time, try a Money Market account at your bank. There will come a time I believe in the not too distant future when the stock market will swoon...that will be your entry point opportunity. Best...

All in GameCoin. You'll be able to retire to Fiji by the end of the week.

(Don't actually do this)

I am a bit of an aggressive investor, so I am not be the best person. I’d have at least 25% of it in crypto (Bitcoin first until learning about others like Ethereum and Solana). 25% in a speculative play like SLI (although most on here agree SLI is no longer speculative and will likely see $20 before it sees $5 again). I’d have 25% in either VTI or QQQ. The last 25% I would keep in a bond fund and be ready to move it into any of the three above in a pullback.

Pullbacks are different for each of those categories. 20% pullback in crypto is not the same as 20% pullback in SLI. 20% pullbacks in crypto can happen overnight and recover before you wake up, so a buying pullback in crypto for me is 25-30% and I still don’t expect to be buying at the bottom. A 20% pullback in SLI is not the same as a 20% pullback in VTI or QQQ. SLI likely will have 20% pullbacks along the way and be a buying opportunity whereas a 10% decline in VTI or QQQ is a buying opportunity to me.

If I were more conservative I would be DCAing into the broader market up to 75% and keeping 25% in a bond fund for either dips or individual plays (crypto or stocks) as I learn more about them.

People have been saying this since 2015 and look where we are compared to then. OP doesn't need the money, there is no reason to time the market. Throw it in and let it go to work for you. Personally, it sounds like OP could diversify into crypto, bitcoin specifically. Asymmetric risk is extremely beneficial at this point in time. Again harping on the point that OP doesn't need the money so no need to time the market.

I feel like y’all always tell people to yolo big money into whatever meme crypto after y’all put in 2 grand like 6 months ago

What if we all put our money into this investment where it would go up if the guy after us put more money into it and hopefully we could pull our money before we ran out of more people to invest

Idk maybe we could pretend that one day people would use it to buy stuff with to make it seem more promising too

Hex has been laying on my legs for the last couple of weeks. Down 14%. Are you saying you expect it to go up?
