im not too active in the market, but have a little cash to play with. I've had some success the past couple years. But my regrets in the market always outweigh my success. So i thought it would be a fun thread to list the times we did not pull the trigger over the past couple years, and get these off my chest
here is a list of my biggest regrets:
* Markwest Energy Partners at $14
* Mosaic when i think it was around $35
* Terra Nitrogen when it dipped to $70
* Las Vegas Sands when it was around $15
* Freeport McMoran at $60
* purchasing apple at $190 was good, then selling at $260 hurts me now.

I lost a ton of money trying to catch the falling knife that was SIRI as it fell below $1.30 a few years back. If I had held I would have been just fine. Probably lost a good $10grand. I was very stupid.

I almost bought 15,000 shares of Sirius at .07.
Cost me $25,000, but was talked out of it by some folks on another board.

I decided not to buy it for $4/share something like 7 years ago because after careful analysis it had no chance of surviving.

instead of selling enough fixed assets to purchase 2000 more shares of exxon at 60 I sold 2000 shares exxon at 62.5 to purchase alternative hedge investments.

If we could go back about four years I don't buy a huge block of Wachovia at 40.

I bought a bunch of XOM on margin around $59-60.(Good idea)
Sold half of it off around 70.(Bad idea)
Still making some money, can't complain too much.
