Same experience here. A few years back, I took $10,000 to $27, 0000...and down to a few pennies.

I don’t think this is true. When I asked E*TRADE about it years ago they said you can’t.
I have a self directed Roth, a Coverdale acct, and a traditional IRA and both platforms I use won’t allow me to purchase options. I use a basic account with Merrill for options.

You can definitely do it on TD Ameritrade. I've done it in my Roth. You have to get authorized to trade options on your account though, which is very easy.
