I did not realize the severity of the bounceback until they said "market had best week in 2 years last week" today on bberg. So it would seem so, although I have done no DD on that whatsoever and I'm sure the rally was super light on vol. Short/lazy week but data heavy at the end.

Saying volume has been "super light" would be the understatement of the century. June '11 vol on the CBOT was 92.9% lower YoY.

Trying to see what the vol last week was relative to sppy.

Found an interest book y'all might want to take a look at. It shows quite convincingly that some of the best-known people on Wall St. can be spectacularly wrong.

The book is inexpensive too although it was written in 1999..

I posted about that when glassman posted about his family's mutual fund in nola. Never heard of any of those people before, and the namesake glassman (after reading his bio) probably doesn't know what a balance sheet is. History in general makes your point much better.

Just bought one of these for only $40. My roommate has some knives but I tried using them last night and cutting through some bell peppers was a chore. Hopefully this will solve my issues:

I have just accepted the fact that I will need to spend money to make an apartment functional. For things that matter, I might as well buy decent things than have to buy them two or three times because they sucked the first go-around.

ETA: According the the F&D board, this knife sucks. My luck.

FIFY

It's a good knife. The F&D board is just a culinary equivalent of the O/T.

It used to be good, its gone downhill hard the last few months. Now you get jackasses who feel the need to flaunt their food tastes starting threads daily bitching about Applebees AND the people who eat there. I say this as someone who cooks all the time and also hates Applebees.

SEC and PCAOB planning vist to China

Yeah, the BB sale is pretty nice, although the store-wide 40% sale the last couple weeks was sweet.

Motherfr I was about to post that. Other sale was definitely good too, this one looks like an inventory clean out, better get while the gettin' is good.

I also like this:

Austria’s Chancellor Werner Faymann yesterday said he would move to create a European rating company. The sovereign debt crisis has shown the rating companies lack “local knowledge” and “empathy” for the European condition, he said.

Don't like the ratings? Just create a new one likely completely controlled by political influence.

This is similar to the saying its not the firearm it's the marksman. If you don't keep a knife sharp it doesn't matter what you buy. Did you buy a sharpener with said knife? I have a manual and a 3-stage electric sharpener, the manual sharpener gets used 200x more than the electric model---and I am not a knife snob. Kids these days.....

Just find your neighborhood Summer job cutco representative and buy those...had mine for years and years and still have yet to need to sharpen. Of course my culinary exploits may pale in comparison to yours, but in general, they have served me extremely well.

That's where the 3-stage sharpener comes into play which grinds a new bevel, rough sharpens, then finish sharpens. If the old knives are total crap not worth the money for the better sharpener, much better to maintain the edge before it gets to that point.
