Im buying my puts tomorrow. Going to hammer this hard.

5 weeks ago the board and management sold 50,000,000 shares at $2 a share. That’s what the people who run the company think it’s worth.

Asymmetrical bets. My favorite.

Does seem rather top heavy and I’m sure these firms got in cheap and are itching to dump their bags on retail

Question - where are people learning about more speculative AI and related companies? One might even say penny stocks. Things like KUlR, LAES,. Discord? There are going to be so many soon and I don’t want to learn about them here when they’re already overvalued.

Looking now. Probably do one year out and I won't bet more than I am willing to lose and not care about.

I just buy and hold a while and sell whenever I feel like it because I’m not savvy on all of this stuff. Can you explain what you mean by this?

He’s looking to buy puts that expire next January or so. He’ll probably buy strike prices around $5 to $10 dollars. This means that if the price of RGTI heads that direction, his put contracts will increase in value.

The $10 put will be more expensive than the $5 put because the $5 put is further out of the money with RGTI being around 18-19 today.

Beyond that I’m not sure exactly what his strategy is. Does he want to make a quick 25-50% or does he want to wait for RGTI to really correct and possibly cash out with 5 or 10x gains.
I’d suspect the latter.

The put option will increase as the price of the stock decreases because is gives the buyer of the puts the option to sell shares at the strike price of their choosing.

Right now the $10 put option that expires next January is going for about 3.80. So you’d spend $380 on the options contract.

Well, if RGTI is trading at $2 next January, then the price of the put will be worth well upwards of $8 depending on implied volatility.

3.80 —> 8.00 is more than 100% gains.
So he could just sell the contract (most do) or exercise the option, which is to sell RGTI at $10 per share even though it’s trading for $2.

Check out optionstrat for a price predictor.
