With high volatility they cannot always get the actual price of the stop loss. Once the stock his the stop loss number that triggers a sale. However, they may not get the sale at the actual stop loss number. Happens a lot with Sstop losses when a stock crashes overnight. Stop losses are good, but not fool proof.

You all are braver than me. This is way too volatile for me. Retail can often get hosed in plays like this. I am aggressive, but not this aggressive. Good luck.

If you only want to sell for $18, you need a stop-limit order.

A stop loss order guarantees it will sell once the trigger is hit, but doesn’t guarantee the price.

A stop-limit order guarantees the price but doesn’t guarantee it will actually execute at all if the stock gaps down.

Yeah a discord I'm in has a few that got hosed like me, but others that were thankful their orders got filled at their stop loss.

I just got the short end of the stick on this one I guess.

At this point, I'm going to let this ride and revisit at the end of the day. Any positive momentum will be halted anyway.
