Rate hikes are priced in. Look at the bond spreads.

The market has not remained this week simply because of Fed hikes.

This has been feeling like a bear market for months so I am glad we just made it official.

Here’s my plan

With an official bear market there is likely to be more downside but volume is key. I’ll watch that. If volume is light on up and down days, it indicates that a bottom is forming.
I’ll start buying the etf’s- spy qqq and rut.

If volume is heavy on down days but light on up days, there’s more downside so I’ll wait.

I Will buy insurance stocks anyway as they’re likely to do well in this environment

Agree, have a good bit of cash on the side, buying on the way down.

Really wish the housing market would dip, need an upgrade ,it it’s out of control.

And they have been right, rates are going up and the market has been bad.

Where do we go now?

No problem. We are already out of the bear market since people insist on the 20% mark to indicate bear market. Just like that, we are out of it.

We go down more from here IMO. Before the end of the week we will have our second bear market in a week because this market today is typical of a market that is in the teeth of a bear market. Still more pain to come.

The speed and size of it ended up being wrong, but 2-yr treasuries tend to be a very good predictor of The federal funds rate, and they’ve plateaued for the last month. That implies, at least for now, that the bond market has caught up to the expected hikes.

If you’re selling stocks because of the Fed at this point, I’d assume you’re arguing that the market is still underestimating them. That’s been an accurate idea this year, but there are signs that it’s starting to change, and it starts with 2-year treasuries IMO.
