I'm keeping all my funds liquid. There will be various coins and pump/dumps to ride throughout the year.

There will probably be multiple corrections this year to ride... I am just hoping I can sell out near the ATH prior to the drops and buy back in at the right time.

Not much. It’s gone up about 2000% since then...

lol yeah, I will say if I bought a significant amount of eth 9 months ago, I'd probably have cashed out 50% of it by now and turned the other 50% into alt coin investments

PSA: Asian markets wake up in a couple hours. Today's trading will say a lot for this week's direction of a lot of the coins discussed recently, including ETH.

Roughly speaking - 9 months ago but more like 7-8 months ago was my true buy in. Avr buy in was at $185.

I didn’t say it was a significant buy.

I am speaking specifically to what has it dropping some 30% in last 10 days.

Market correction, korean/chinese uncertainty, possible sell-off to delay taxes as much as possible for next tax year.

There is always a correction in January. The market actually re-stabilized pretty quickly (within a couple days) but it will take a bit for it to go back to its previous ATH. Usually takes a month or two.

This is to anyone with the patience to guide a beginner. I have already set up and account in coinbase and my deposit is stuck in Blocktrail. Need some help moving it out into cloud miner or if anyone has suggestions.

Never count on a pump coming from Asia. It's almost always a dip as they take profits while laughing at us Westerners.

Not counting on anything. Just saying it might give some insight to this weeks movements, especially in the alt coin environment.

Worth nothing they pumped the hell out of ETH from 750-800 to 1100 last week during the crash, though.

LINK

The South Korean government has announced that six major banks will be ready to provide services to cryptocurrency exchanges this month. Under the new system, the government requires exchanges to share user data with banks.

quote:

Six commercial banks that have supported virtual currency transactions will establish a deposit and withdrawal system to convert [to] the virtual money real-name system and provide full-fledged services from the 30th.

quote:

However, this new service “is targeted at existing virtual account users, and the opening of new accounts will [still] be suspended for the time being,” the publication noted.

This is basically the end of SOKO FUD, but functionally doesn't necessarily open up new money yet due to that last bit. Any good news is welcome these days, though.

FYI ETH is getting smoked right now. The wall of resistance 900-930 is getting destroyed. Mentioning it because we had some posters wanting to put fiat in today.

You only lose if you sell. It will likely rebound quickly.

Watching cryptographs is not easy on the soul, especially during times like these.

Unless you intend on taking advantage of dips/peaks, you may be better suited to just pretending crypto doesnt exist for a few months and checking occasionally.

As I mentioned last week after the rebound, a double dip was likely. We’ll probably retest last week’s lows before rebounding and hopefully more sustainable upward momentum can be achieved.

Yeah, that's pretty much my plan. But my OCD only allows me to forget so much.

I agree. You could see the beginnings of it yesterday with the price resistance/suppression around 1040-1050.

So I haven't jumped into the cryptocurrency world yet, but I'm thinking pretty hard about it. I know it's looking rough right now but that makes me pretty tempted to jump in.

Hopefully these moves can be digested quickly (they usually are) because it would be a shame for broader crypto market (notably BTC/ETH) to hold back a lot of exciting announcements & advancements coming up in the next month or two in the alt world. What VEN & WTC have done over the past 48 hours relative to broader crypto has been remarkable but likely isn’t sustainable.

There is still money to be made. This may be the last year for significant gains.

Rules:

1. Do not invest what you arent prepared to lose. Once you buy a coin, your USD is functionally gone. Accept this and know peace.

2. Gains and losses are not realized until you sell.

3. DYOR

4. HODL
