This right here is my issue right now. There are too many coins and it's all too volatile to know which coins are the "good coins". No one knows which coins will be left standing when the inevitable correction happens. Just like no one knew 100% that Google would be the winner over Altavista and Dogpile for example.
Just saying that it has sort of gotten out of hand IMO because, again, there is nothing backing any of this other than pure speculation. 90% of these coins wouldn't exist if it wasn't for the speculators as there is not a need for so many variations.

Honestly as it stands right now, from a "practical use" standpoint eth, LTC, and xrp are your best choices for who "wins out" because these three have practical uses outside with quick transactions and teams to make it happen.
But like you said, it's the wild wild West and who knows

Accumulate as much ETH as you can as a core holding. It already has name recognition and Viltalik. Gone will be the days that we can afford bunch of cheap Ether (and IOTA). If cypto implodes, Eth will eventually still stand. Over 40 of the top 100 coins are Ethereum based.

There is legitimate technology and specific applications of said technology backing most of them. Many will not succeed, but it's not because there is nothing backing them. It's because the tech will be beaten by other tech or will be deemed not useful enough for long term viability.

I should reword. The blockchain tech is and will be valuable for many applications. The value of the majority of the coins have nothing backing them.

I don't disagree. A random arse tea/cigar company adds blockchain to their name and goes up by like 350%. That kind of stuff is the precursor to bubbles. Granted, i think this runs for quite a bit longer since it is still relatively new. Whenever the bubble does pop, the shitcoins (alt coins) will be the main ones destroyed. The big boys and coins with established purpose/tech will regroup and keep going

I agree. There seems to 1000 options. Most will be gone in 5 years. Many will be hugely successful with real world use.

The Ethereum creator stated he believes 90% of all coins today will not exist in 5 years. I agree with him. THat is why I am so focused on accumulating ETH and nothing else right now for the long term. I keep only 5% of my crypto portfolio as "play money" to have fun with on trading moonshots.

this will be the last good year for alt coin moonshots imo

If anyone is looking for a hardware wallet. The ledger nano s is one of the best. Make sure you order from the ledger company (located in France) and not from eBay / Amazon. The ones on eBay / Amazon are marked up and you never know if they have been tampered with.

BTC will drop back to $8k. This run was too insane. I am tempted to drop a shitload of money on it at $8K just to try and get lucky and ride the wave.
