Buying LTC is extremely risky. I expect us to have a multi-year bear market like the one we just had where LTC dropped 90% in value ($48 to $4). So if you can't handle LTC dropping to $20, don't buy!

I really considered jumping into the crypto game about 6 months ago and didn't.

How many different crypto currencies are there right now? How do I check the price of each? How do I purchase? Can someone buy parts of say a bitcoin?

1. Hundreds, if not more.
2. Easiest way is an app called Blockfolio, though you need to know the symbols to start tracking (like BTC = Bitcoin)
3. Start from an exchange like coinbase, they do either bank or CC transactions for BTC, ETH, and maybe LTC. You can then transfer to trading exchange like Bittrex to buy other ALT coins.
4. Yes you can buy fractions of any coin. So you could buy $100 worth of Bitcoin if you wanted.

I assume if I sell my coins off coinbase it easily goes back into my bank account from which I bought them ?

So how do you get your money out of this wallet and into your bank account?
Posted on 12/12/17 at 6:34 am to sonoma8
LTC just momentarily hit $335.

I can transfer straight from coinbase into paypal. And Paypal straight to my bank account. I believe you can go straight from coinbase.com to your bank account.
How many crypto? A lot. Coinbase.com displays bit, lite and ethereum on its website. Do a search numerous places to view the current price.
To purchase sign up for free with an exchange such as coinbase.com. Link credit card or bank account. buy and sell.
buying and selling. You buy X dollars worth. They sell you what ever fraction of a bitcoin, litecoin etc that that amount ends up being. Fees will apply but they aren't high. No different than feed for trading stocks really.
Hope this helps.
