I participated in EthGlobal's HackMoney2022 hackathon. Deployed my first contract that is not a tutorial. This team is building a Web3 music-focused social media platform on top of the Lens protocol. Like spotify but decentralized. It is a long term project, I just tagged along for the Hackathon. They seem to like my work so maybe they'll toss me some work from time to time.

My part for the Hackathon was to build them a staking contract for NFTs issued by the Lens protocol so artists can help build a following. Fans will be able to follow an artist, which gives a Lens NFT, and stake that NFT. Artists (or anyone) can fund the pool with a designated ERC20 token, and distribute rewards per staked Follow token. ERC20 token can be their own or any ERC20 token.

Yeah i think music NFT platforms have the potential to flip the power dynamics music industry if people get over the JPEGs. I was super excited to work on this because i have played guitar since 8th grade, so i consider myself hobbyist musician.

Most difficult part: coordinating meetings. Lead dev on the team is in Sri Lanka.

Keep us posted on these air drops and getting these L2 tokens as early as possible. Easy money to be made there.

Don’t spike the football too soon. Ibonds you are locked in for minimum 12 months and you are basically only keeping your dollar whole. I-bonds are not an investment and no one should be treating them as such. Just a way to protect your dollar’s purchasing power.

I am not sure of the tokenomics of gitcoin, but the application is good. Open-source bounties for people to work on open-source projects. They sponsor a lot of Hackathons and events too.

Bitcoin officially a shitcoin yet?

Sure is acting like one more and more everyday. I’m all for volatility as it presents good opportunities but what we’ve seen lately is borderline pump and dump. Usually there is FUD or news to justify the trading but I haven’t seen any.

Again, it’s not that big of a deal if you’re holding, but at some point the reputation is a concern.

How so? I don't think it is doing anything different than in the past? If anything, the volatility has lessened (as of now) because we haven't seen the 80-90% drawdown.

What time frame do you look at reputation? 1 week? 1 month? 1 year? 10 years?
