This is what I always come back to with the crypto market as a whole. Understanding BTC is one thing. Understanding the overall crypto market including defi, mining, wallets, use cases, blockchains, layer 1/2/3, etc takes a large investment of time and a serious dose of curiosity. We have generations of people that never will. This is why it’s going to take a loooong time for all of this to play out. Cracks me up when I hear people say “you missed the bus on getting into crypto if you weren’t buying in 3-4 yrs ago”. Fiat system decay is what will likely end up forcing mass adoption in the next 10-15 years.

The US overtook China as the world’s biggest source of bitcoin mining two months after Beijing banned crypto mining this year, data has revealed.? ? China’s share of the global hashrate — the computational power required to create bitcoin — fell from 44% to zero between May and July, according to figures published by the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance on Wednesday. The country accounted for three-quarters of the global hashrate in 2019.? ? China’s State Council banned cryptocurrency mining and trading in May, citing environmental and financial concerns. The decision prompted an exodus of miners in search of cheap energy and crypto-friendly politicians.? ? Beijing has since gone further, labelling all crypto-related activities 'illegal' last month, extending its prohibition to include foreign operators.? ? 'The China shutdown has been great for the industry and US miners,' said Fred Thiel, chief executive of Marathon Digital Holdings, a Las Vegas-based crypto mining company. 'Overnight, fewer players were going after the same finite number of coins.'?

One thing I am quite interested in watching as we go forward is the inevitable “issues” some elected officials will have with Bitcoin/mining etc. while at the same time they are absolutely CRUSHING ESG requirements and sustainable and alternative energy to power their rigs
Let’s see how THAT plays out

Bitcoin incentives the use of stranded energy and renewables and increases the adoption of renewables
You’ll hear that line of defense a whole lot as the battle lines deepen

I forgot why but something had be concerned about their financial stability a while back…. Maybe they have shored that up?
At least those that offer interest and related on crypto in my head it was:
BlockFi - okay
Celsius - okay
Voyager - risky
Maybe I had that wrong

True, a lot of them will. To me it's way better odds, and a lot more fun than playing the lotto :)

Voyager's got rob gronkowski now, i feel like 2021 politicians are afraid go after things with big celebrity endorsements and would rather just bully the little guys.
