I'm wanting to dip into some $ETH. I'm noticing the most recent upswing (since the end of July) has been on relatively low volume. Anyone have any thoughts as to why? Or if it's a concern?

So BNB and ADA are even marketcap
Binance is largest exchange, 3x larger than coinbase. BNB token is used for fees and is burned routinely.
the BNB token is also used on pancake swap for fees (2nd largest defi exchange behind uniswap).
ADA doesn't even have a functional defi swap yet or a centralized exchange like binance
what am i missing

Speculation on potential, I guess. If Cardano can deliver, it could take a considerable share of ETH market and could devour BSC.
It's all a big guessing game though.

Could be that people imagine a better return of a $2 coin vs a $400 coin?
The shillers are touting the best staking mechanism and smart contracts 1 month away.
I just don't see what ADA does better long term.

It's kinda like ETH2 with more centralized control (a formal committee
for governance) but more decentralized security through different PoS and staking structure. Also, dapps have to be built from a dead programming language for now.
People really love the decentralized staking, because it doesn't take nearly as much to become a validator, and ADA holders can delegate their ADA.

Nothing, honestly I would not buy ADA here Unless your in it long term. Safer play is DOT

Every Friday some degenerates get liquidated, but there’s less every week, it seems.

ADA just continues to grow. 58% in a week, and 76% in a month. I'm usually a hodler and not a trader, but this is getting tempting to take some profits.

XRP moving hard (up 12% whereas the rest of the market is slightly up to flat) on speculation that the SEC is about to settle with Ripple Labs. Once that happens XRP will be placed back on U.S. exchanges.

I'm seeing the "ADA will flip ETH" memes all over Twitter so if that becomes closer to a reality I could see more run left
can't underestimate the momentum of memes

Pretty wild
charles coming for vitaly's neck
They got the memes, smart contracts, and a low dollar coin that people think if it gets to ethereum's level of 3000k I will be a millionaire...

You want some bullish optimism on XRP check out the Crypto Serpent.

if eth marketcap stayed where it is now, ADA flips it at around $10 per coin
Posted on 8/14/21 at 12:35 pm to rocket31
The vast majority of people investing think ADA would have to get to ETH current price to flip it. Brings me back to the “do you know what market cap is” question I asked a minimum of 100 times on this forum when idiots can put the woodwork in the alt run earlier this year
