You've got to deposit whatever you have in Coinbase to Poloniex. So if you don't have ETH or BTC in Coinbase then you can't do anything in Polo yet.

I suggests buying BTC in Coinbase because there are more alt coins available to buy via BTC

I learned from the VIDEO BELOW:

Well damn! I just wanted to buy like $50 of ripple. Btc is like 1800 a unit, can I just buy $50 worth then transfer to polo?

Unless you are actively trading, never keep your coins at ANY exchange, ever. Download the wallet, keep them yourself.

I'm using 2 factor authentication on poly. with a rotating code every 60 seconds and an extremely difficult password, what is the main concern?

I transferred 15 ether from coinbase to poly using the code it generated for me. It immediately cane out of my coinbase account but hasn't reflected in poly account. Reason for concern?

Things like what happened at bitfinex last December, mt gox, etc. Hacking thefts and regular non hacking thefts lol. You're kidding yourself if you don't think it can happen to the place you use as a bank. I've been messing with btc since before it hit $10, seen't it happen repeatedly. This is cryptocurrency, there are no guarantees or refunds. You should treat it as such.

Me too. They move so violently at times I'm scared to take gains.

Really curious what I'll be looking at in a month if I don't sell...but yes, it's not impossible to find the trading range.

My May 7th eth just arrived. Still waiting on may 5ths.

Can someone recommend an easy (as in, a layman like me can figure it out) offline wallet? I don't have much eth at all but it seems like that's what you're supposed to do i guess.

Any reliable vendors for ledger nano s? Amazon only has a couple new vendors and google only returns a bitcoin.com site run by Spotify.
