This is why I generally try to always convert to a stable coin in between coin swaps. Makes the math much easier and I don’t have to look up coin value later doing taxes

You have to pay more fees this way. If you have the choice to directly swap coins, do it.

In honor of LSU777....

I've made a lot of money buying and holding BTC and ETH. I've made some money trading other digital currency. This doesn't mean I know nearly as much as LSU777 about the fundamentals of longer term crypto investing, or the technical chart reading of trading it. Or a lot of other people on here for that matter.

The last several of his short term trades (which I followed) are below:

ADA is now at $1.80
GRAPH is now at $1.53
ALGO is now at $1.49

It's too bad the internet is a cesspool and decent threads get muddied up, which runs a lot of the smarter guys off.

You don't need to know jack shite about fundamentals or the underlying technology to make money trading crypto.

I'm not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing.

Very bad for the foundation…which is why you see 90-95% crashes in shitcoins every 4 years

?

Alright this worked last weekend let's try it again.

I'd love it if ETH reached $4K this weekend.

Guess we have no choice but to go for $5K next weekend

Anyone else ever use Nicehash? Running my laptop as part of their mining network. Get about 10k sats a day from running it in the background

i did use it. most miners will probably tell you not to use it, and that you'd be better off using the direct miner that nicehash uses in conjunction with Ethermine or HiveOS.

reason being it's more expensive to mine on nicehash than it is the other options i listed due to the fees. i'm currently getting paid in direct ETH instead of BTC. the one thing i miss from Nicehash is the payout every four hours. Ethermine is every 7 days if you have 0.005 ETH or every 14 days if you have 0.001 ETH. and i'm mining directly to my coinbase account wallet.

eta: if all your mining with is your laptop, nicehash is probably your best bet. just keep it chugging along and you should be good.

I'll look into this but can I set up unused laptops and just mine in the background?

It’s only really worth it if you have a 30 series graphics card in your laptop.

eta: that's not exactly true (the above statement). i've got:

(1) 3060Ti
(3) 1660 Supers
(1) 1660Ti
(1) 5700xt

and here's my expected profits:

230 MH/s

i would go to whattomine.com, plug in your GPUs and see what your profitability would be. here's mine:

Is Ethereum available on coinbase? And if you have coinbase do you actually own the coin or is it like robinhood where you don’t actually own the coin?

I see the fees are pretty rough for coinbase but I guess it’s worth it if you actually own the coin

You don’t “own” the coin anymore than you “own” dollars in a bank.

You can move the coin to your private wallet from Coinbase though and then you “own” the coin.
