Do y’all think bitcoin will hit 100k this year with Ethereum following the same upward trend?

Yes but I could see ETH lagging slightly in % gain from here. It all depends on ETH 2.0 really and that is a complete cluster at the moment.

Yea the more I read and hear about ETH 2.0 the less confident I am in it. Unfortunate because Chainlink is tied to it(gas fees) and that is what I’ve been primarily riding.

PolkaDot or Cardano would be the next best thing.

that's why I posted the concern of chainlink being bound to the success of eth, not an ideal position to be in.

okay, so it can potentially pivot to a different platform?

it's an erc20 token right?

Yep, blockchain agnostic. It’s already integrated with every major blockchain so it probably wouldn’t be too difficult.

However, the best timeline for everyone is probably ETH not completely failing.

All the gas fees are gonna be handled with off chain reporting and threshold signatures

Yeah POS can obviously happen. I would think throwing more resources at it would be more likely than ETH disappearing. Tons of people are in deep at this point

gotcha and it's hard for me to see eth ever completely failing but I do wonder what happens if a few projects decide to move elsewhere

The gas fees are still eth those correct? If Chainlink become more efficient via those methods and incurs less gas, does it matter if people continue to use ETH or not?

Eth can be the settlement layer or it can be done on any other chain

Avax is another in that area. They’ve partnered with chainlink on some stuff already

Not gonna happen. If anything projects will bridge to multiple chains (I think this is likely) but an Ethereum based DeFi application isn’t up and leaving unless ETH2 implodes which will rock the whole market. Many are moving to Layer 2 on ETH right now which is going to help out a lot on this insane gas issue

Lots of block chains are integrated with Chainlink but LINk still runs on the ETH blockchain and pays ETH gas fees.

They could move to Cardano via the ERC token converter and the Ethereum emulator with no code changes.

hmm interesting but ADA seems like a ghost chain ... only 50k active addresses in the last 24 hours? i keep seeing so many conflicting perspectives with ADA that I still have reservations

how defi evolves will be fascinating

Added some more BTC this morning around when it was 32.4K. I probably won’t be adding any more in the near future unless it starts heading back to around 20k.

Small fry here, but would any of you advise trading some ETH for BTC since BTC seems to be dipping more the ETH right now?

I don’t have any idea what that other stuff in the thread means about Defi and gas’s fees.
