Yeah.. still haunted by that day in 2018 when it "pulled back" and "consolidated" and continued to go down 80%

and that all started with threat of regulation from Asia

Finally getting around to throwing all my extra hardware into some machines to mine eth. Looks like I'll be in the ~$20/day bitcoin equivalent.

Just gonna let these puppies run until they die off. I might try to move it around to some other coins instead of keeping it all in BTC

Would you be willing to walk me though setting up some eth mining equipment. I have a good bit of old high end Dell equipment that I need to do something with.

It's not just any equipment. You need newer video cards to mine.

You can google the video cards and their hashrate to see if they would be profitable.

What’s the power consumption cost to run these?

That's post-power gains.

I'm looking at an estimated $50/month in power though

So this isn't good?

I do have a handful of 970s but I doubt 4.03 Mh/s is good enough compared to what I'm seeing from other cards.

970s are barely profitable right now (like pennies/day) and that's with extremely fine tuning

Can use some suggestions! I had a small amount of coins in Binance and just found out that Binance is no longer available in the us. How am I supposed to move it out? I see that Binance US is not available in Louisiana. I was going to transfer it to coinbase but it won’t allow me to convert the alt coins. I’m pretty new to this. I bought a small amount of alt coins in 2018 and haven’t touched it since then. Any help is appreciated

Use a VPN. You can select an IP adress from almost any country in the world. I use binance from my house in BFE Tennessee.

Once you’ve been made, the 14 day clock starts. So unless you can go thru verification with that same IP, you have 14 days to move it.

I moved most of my stuff to Kucoin and Kraken. Unfortunately I couldn’t move some at all, and they are locked until B.US opens and hopefully support some of the coins.

You also can’t sell or swap anything once the notification has been sent. It’s a bummer.

Interesting. I’ve only been on Binance for a week or so. They’re going to figure me out, eh?

So do we retest the support line and possibly get up or we goto a bear market and test 30k again over night?

I think if you’re diligently using the VPN, you’ll be fine. I’d check another exchange or two and make sure you have some options to send coins to, tho. If you can’t find a place for something, then think about switching it out for something more popular.
