Do we think it's gonna be moon status when the Asian trading starts? I've just got USDt sitting there. I'll get in at $209 if I can get out safely enough down the road.

Thoughts?

Ok. I'll sit. I'm going to cry if I pop in before bed and it's $250.

I don't think you'll have issues getting out safely if you hodl long enough. I'm more worried that Asian market opens, there isn't a significant influx of buyers and the lack of a pop causes some panick sell offs.

That's a total guess, but how I see getting back into ETH at 180-190. If it doesn't happen I have no problem getting back in, in the 200's.

Thats what I did Sunday. Sold all of mine for $175, waiting for a re-dip that didn't happen. I eventually re-bought at $191 and sold that at $206. I have that cash spread between shite coins now, hoping to get a 5-10% return before ETH dips again. That 5-10% return aint happening for me though.

If I keep trading will I be subject to capital gains tax? I plan on keeping eth longterm and not cashing out for a number of years but trading and rebuying I am confused, since a lot of crypto you have to go through one (btc, eth) to get to another.

Any short term gains you realize will be taxed as regular income, so just be mindful of that.

I have no doubts that you can buy now and hodl it long-term for a profit, but I really think that it will nosedive again. Up to you brotha

Yes every single trade. And if it's within 30 days, you can't claim a loss.

aww damn. I don't think I'm going to be able to figure this out. Do they even have accountants that are familiar with crypto?

I'm a CPA but I don't think you're going to find may tax accountants experienced with this stuff. It's essentially treated the same as stock transactions so the accounting for it is pretty easy.

but by gains I feel as though that means depositing the usd back into my bank account. Taking the gains and reinvesting back into another crypto though is what I'm talking about

You should have a record of your transactions in your transactions list on the exchange(s) you used, correct?

yes. This shite is gonna eat into my gains. So what is the point of trading if all of my gains from fluctuations is eaten up by taxes. Would I be better served just buying and never selling and only adding to my investment.
