Looks like LTC is the only long term alt chart that has real potential.

I used to think this way but I don't think ETH ever catches up on ratio because there is no institutional money going into ETH like there is BTC.

Ever? You think Wall Street is only going to buy BTC for the rest of time? Some are already looking into the Bitwise 10 fund which has altcoins.

BTC dominance goes to 40% in the long run at minimum

Yes

Wall street isn't getting into any coin that is centralized or has risk of changing protocols to alter the course (i.e. ETH). ETH isn't a store of value either. These companies are buying BTC as a store of value on their balance sheet. ETH is a utility token.

For now. Forever is a long time. Literally no one would have called BTC a store of value just a few years ago

BTC has always been considered the "digital gold" of the cryptos since multiple coins started being created. Gold and store of value go hand in hand.

And yes, I will correct myself because I didn't realize you had initially said forever. I have no clue if BTC will be the only crypto that funds and companies purchase as a reserve asset forever. That is actually doubtful IMO. There isn't a coin in existence today that will take over as that reserve asset so BTC has a 12 year head start.

I agree with this. BTC has won the “money lane” of crypto. But I still think over the long run there are going to be several altcoins that have early days BTC-like returns

Don't try to be too clever. You'll never win that way.

Btc is interesting to Wallstreet because of the network it has already but mostly because of the lack of founder issues. I really don't see that changing. Other coins rely on humans not screwing it up which is a losing bet. I just dont see the purpose of buying a digital currency that a small group of people can choose to alter. Makes the whole thing pointless to me. Might as well just sit in the usd. The intrinsic reason btc is getting attention is lack of trust, altcoins are the antithesis of that.

I agree but the issue is bitcoin lacks the necessary function and utility that some altcoins provide to truly make crypto succeed on a global level

It's only supposed to be a currency. Thats the only function and utility it needs to be successful.

Sorry to clutter this with another Coinbase question. I didn't want to start a whole new thread. A few pages back, a month or two ago, I had mentioned that I sold ethereum and it wasn't letting me withdraw it, yet shows it as cash in my fiat wallet. I have all of the checks for authentication and what not. I have sent numerous tickets to the support account, and even made a stupid reddit account to ask them directly, and no answer. Should I just buy back into a crypto and send it to another platform? a buddy mentioned switching from Coinbase to "Blockchain" or something, but I wasn't sure if there were better options. It isn't a lot of money, just a few hundred, but I want to to get it moved to robin hood and try to invest in other stuff there but I can't because Coinbase is holding it, for nearly a month now. I also set up a PayPal account a few weeks back and it won't let me send it to PayPal either. Anyone else have problems with Coinbase like this? Sorry again for cluttering this thread. I have googled and googled and googled and can't find anything relevant to my issue.

Major reason I don’t really care for Coinbase.

Others have used Gemini or kraken I believe.

this - bitcoin doesn’t need to do anything else, no need for further utility. Store of value is its purpose and it does it better than anything in existence

Ahh ok. thanks, I will look into both of those and see about sending what I have there and then cashing out so I can put it in robin hood. I wish you could move straight from CB to robinhood. newbie mistake I guess. Thanks again.

Can’t you buy Eth/BTC on Coinbase and send it to your Robinhood wallet?
