Tesla made more money selling 10% of their bitcoin in 6 months than they've made in a decade selling cars

rational response to the subject of GAAP accounting for bitcoin. Elon Musk got lucky he timed his purchase and sale correctly. Unless he has influence on the price he was playing the greater fools errand with a $750B company. It doesn't get much dumber than that when your equity is already gold in comparison.

You should probably stop stalking me if you can't have a conversation. You just made up something in your head that you think I either said or believe and it's incoherent considering my own skin in this game. Wanting the FASB to change the rules of accounting to help out companies wanting to hold bitcoin to make it economically more valuable doesn't merit an irrational meltdown.

yea that 101 million dollar profit on btc in 2 months was so fricking foolish.

do you realize how stupid you sound?

and before you start spouting off, you may want to learn a little on how digital currencies are considered "indefinite-lived intangible assets."

ELON IS FOOLISH FOR MAKING 101 MILLION IN PROFIT!!!! HE HAS NO CLUE WHAT HE IS DOING!!!!

Never change man, never change.

as of this point it would be dumb for other companies to not add a large sum of bitcoin to their balance sheet then report it, because after they report it the price of bitcoin is guaranteed to rocket up, then they can sell it and add profits without affecting any single entity

so easy for them to manipulate

For all you Bitcoin pumpers, are you simply holding BTC shares or are you actually getting on Coinbase and the likes and directly purchasing and/or mining for Bitcoin?

Shares? Got the BTC in Voyager. But most of the crypto allocation is in DeFi AMM utilizing Binance Smart Chain.

A) anything can be legal tender if you accept it as payment

B) that Elon was foolish, you called him that after having a 700 million dollar appreciation. So instead of holding cash reserves he secured 101 million in profit and had the remaining investment appreciate almost 600 million.

So fricking foolish.

the game theory is where this gets really interesting. the first fang who adds, then announces, can pretty much expect a $~10k candle

not sure how you can sit on the sideline much longer once the first domino falls
